I really do not understand why people begin the process of bringing their fiance(e) to this country to be married and then don't make sure they have enough money to actually pay for AOS. I really do NOT understand it. It seems to me this is one of the most important investments you will make, so why not take some extra time and preparation to make sure you have all the funds to cover all the immigration related expenses BEFORE getting them here?

And of course I must explain this by saying that I foolishly posted in the Russia forum where of course I'm not welcome because I'm not a man with a wife from Russia.

it may be some are not aware of the costs involved down the road. the cost of nessa's aos was before the increase that almost doubled the filing fee. in theory, i agree with you, one should have the money set aside for the filing of aos. however, life happens sometimes and the money set aside is eaten up by other expenses.

I know. I really do know that. But sometimes it seems like people don't plan ahead and educate themselves. The other thing that bothers me is when people make two or three posts about the same topic and never go back to get the answers given OR just keep posting new topics. ####### people?

Man, I'm being b!tchy today

We technically had the money for AOS in the bank, but it was still hard because right when we filed AOS my car broke and was in the shop  and you know $600 bucks later it was fixed, so we were pretty tight on money and behind on bills.

Things aren't always foolproof... and also I went to Peru on last minute notice because of the interview (it's seriously recommended to go to the interview with your SO in Peru) so I shelled out cash on that, etc. Luis had money with him at least when he came here but the exchange rate sucks with Peru soles.

At least I was able to sponsor him by myself. That, I am proud of :). Wasn't sure if I was going to be able to do it.

People are different, and have different priorities in life, that's for sure. For me too everything has to be planned out to the 'T', and I just can't handle it when things don't go the way I want... that's so silly too...
