does not have to happen. I can't recall ever saying that to my mother or father. It was just not an option.

 it's one of those things that makes people overseas look at america and scratch their heads.

hell no. If after talking pros and cons (they always amde us build a case, so to speak) the answer was "no", there was no room for debate. I liked it that way. Children these days get away with a lot of unacceptable #######.

in most of the world, telling your parents you hate them is unacceptable behavior and most kids wouldn't think of doing it.

Meh, everyone who has hormones says crappy things (or thinks them) to their parents as a teen. It's meaningless. I was no exception to that rule and I totally love and respect my parents. When it happens, ignore it. That's my plan.

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

When hormones rage, rage literally takes over. Perhaps hormones are not so strong is some people as others? Not sure, I just know I had these really ridiculous fights with my mom during teen years over absolutely nothing. She doesn't hold it against me now.

No you just can't do that. Although my dad never slapped me or anything but I can remember 2 distinct examples of how my parents wouldn't take my tantrums by any means

--Was having dinner I wanted a certain piece of meat from the curry, my mom couldn't find it but she did find it once the dinner was over and she called me to have it, I showed my tantrum saying how I don't care anymore and blah blah, she didn't care about me either, she threw that piece to our dog

--I was 7 or something, I don't remember why I was upset but I was upset about something and was threatning to leave the house; my dad held my hand, took me out of the house and shut the door, said I can leave whenever I want to

I don't think its really is common in Indian culture to yell or scream at your parents, smacking isn't illegal out there, so if you scream you will get the smack.
