Bow...meats can be expensive...especially organic or lean meats...have you considered protein shakes? There are some good brands that will give you calories and protein...with an ample amount of carbs too. It may cost about $30-40 for the container...but you could get a good 20 shakes out of it? When people train...and want to add mass...they will tack on a shake to their dinner as a healthy addition for bulking up on mass....

Just a thought :)

:) Thanks very much for the advice :) I actually hit up a protein shake first thing in the morning and then one right after the workout when I get home from work. I'm having somewhere near 3,000 calories at the moment but it's just not enough with the ol' skinny furnace burning haha. Maybe I'll start hitting up a third shake right before bed :)

OMG!!! I totally just got a taste of what you're talking about: The P90x package came in today, so I went shopping for the first two days worth of food....over $150! Alot of it was just acquiring a "base" of things that I maybe should have that I don't (minced garlic, whey powder, bulk chicken, shrimp and a blender,) but still...wow. Did you follow the menu exactly? If so I bet your wife wanted to smack you after she went looking for "hearts of palm" lol. Nobody in the store including myself knew what the heck that was.

Sigh...I better look like Xena the Warrior Princess after this is done.

Hahaha congrats on getting started, even if you only do 75% of what the program has you're gonna see some crazy results every single month, just be sure to take the pictures :)

I actually just follow the percentages of protein to carbs to fat that it recommends. My wife has been cooking really healthy since we've been together so it was just a matter of making sure that I was eating my body weight in meat since it's supposed to be about 1.5g of protein for every pound of body weight :)

You're gonna love the program, let me know what you think of Plyo after you try it for the first time :)

My wife has been back since June 5, 2007. Now we're just livin' man, L I V I N :)

I really hate those Visa, MasterCard, or Amex prepaid gift cards for charging a $3-5 "activation fee". That represents a 16%+ interest! That's throwing money away!

You're better off getting gift certificates or cards from department stores that don't charge any activation fees.

A lot of those store gift cards depreciate in value if you dont' use them right away.

Hi Everyone,

Lol...Pregnancy tests results last for many years....

Heck, the 20+ (umm...I wanted to make sure, plus I had many pregnancies/miscarriages) home pregnany tests that I took over the years are still "positive"..lol....(though I'll never see a new one like that again..sigh...)

Congratulations to Ravenesque and ValerieA for your pregnancies! Good luck with your babies in 2010! :star:

By the way I did start a poll last year on vj....Which first....Baby or 10 yr Green Card...

The Baby won!....Baby=9 months, Green Card=10 months....(as you can see, babies are more reliable than the uscis). Humour me........

Ant

P.S. By the way, I picked up that "mysterious package"....It was holiday stuff from the nieces to their new cousin....Worth the 20 mile drive..yes..

But usps still could not explain to me as to why they cant deliver to my font door a mile away, instead of having me drive an extra twenty miles away!

Oh and they had the nerve to charge an extra $4 for packing tape for a box I had to mail out! (note: bring tape to post office instead)

Thanks, Ant! I think we are going to have a betting pool, who will have their baby first, Raven or I...it's kinda cool we are both at the same point, we can whine to each other about everything :D

My vent for the day - going to the pound today, to look at all the black cats they caught. My cat got out Friday night, and hasn't come home (he has not been allowed outside, so he probably got lost and freaked). I have looked everywhere around here for him. OK, I am not just mad at him being an idiot and slipping out the door, and at hubby and I for not noticing it, I am really worried about Rider. I've had him almost a year and I kinda adore that brat.

Aw...that's a horrible feeling to have..I'm sorry to hear about this. I remember when I was due to move here to the US in one week, my mini poodle named Ruben also slipped out of the house...he's almost completely blind so I was freaking out as well. He came back later on that night, but it was the worst feeling ever.

Crossing my fingers for your kitty to come home! Maybe as a "punishment" to him when he returns you can go get the mischievous guy microchipped.

I sometimes wonder if the USPS workers are idiots.

My mom got two of my wedding invites back in the mail because they were undeliverable.

The addresses were PERFECT and this isnt the first time I've had something sent back from them. Last time it was an engagement party invite going to Idaho. (A wedding invite was sent to her too, one of the returned ones).

Even sillier thing is the other one that got sent back was for the inlaws of my fiance's sister. They live in the exact same condo complex, only address difference is the condo letter. One of them got theirs, the other didnt.

Ugh, mail systems.

Aww, I'm sorry to hear about Rider. Most cats generally stay within a small block (several yards in a circle range) of where they got 'lost' so he should still be around the area. Put out some food and water near the house where he can find them if he is about and hopefully in a day or so when he is less overwhelmed by the outside he will come home. Put up posters in the neighbourhood and check with all of the vet offices in the area as well. Good luck. I hope you find him soon.

I'm officially fed up with the holidays. I stayed up here for my last christmas living at home and my family is driving me insane. First my sister starts with this additude over me offering to split a gift to my dad as we are both strapped for cash and I somehow ended up being labelled as cheep and told I whine about money. Now the same little brat is annoying the c**p out of me. Shes been wandering around for the last 3 days asking non-stop about opening her gifts. Its not funny, its not cute, its annoying. Shes 21 for crying out loud. I understand shes excited but yeesh. Then because I'm not all like "omg I so want my presents like now!" she tells me that cuz I'm not excited (apparently) that I should open my presents in the new year. When I said fine I don't care, I just wanted to spend time with you guys se got all huffy and now has my mom saying the same things. Don't get me wrong, I'm excited, but I didn't ask for anything for christmas, I enjoy giving more than getting. I just wanted to be with my family for the last holiday before I leave and now all I'm getting is additude telling me I'm a scrouge and sarcastic "merry christmas"s thrown my way from my mom. I guess I'm horrible because other things are more important to me than what I'm getting. We also get to open our gifts a day early due to German tradition so I'm not going to run around begging like im 5 to open my gifts like last week.

It's sounds like it's probably just a hard transition for them. It's hard for some parents, I think, when their 'child' becomes and adult and that special christmas thing is no longer there, no excitement about gifts etc etc.

There isn't a lot you can do about it anyway, short of faking excitement

I hate my cousin.

It's like an extreme hate... like I think about it too much kind of hate, like it controls me kind of hate, like if she were standing in front of me I wouldn't think twice about hitting her kind of hate.

I need to get over it. Venting helps.
