Oh, I was totally being tongue-in-cheek when I wrote that.

I probably should have used a smiley.

Why on earth would people get upset about about thread topic titles? I don't get it. I could sort of understand why the Adam Walsh title is a bit inappropriate seeing how he was brutally murdered, but I'm not going to lose sleep over someones ill titled thread. But the yardies thread title aggrivates you? Seriously? Oh well, just my opinion.

I read that post and was upset as well, since the Yardies are awesome ladies, as awesome as my Canuck friends are. It's as if someone would say "oh, i am soooo annoyed every time The Vent Part Trois comes up". In all honesty, this is one of the reasons why some peepz consider the Canada forum not as much loving and welcoming as it once was. But oh well. I am sure I'm wrong, since I am an OT piece of....

OT piece of AWESOME! :D

A few rants for the evening hours...

1) A friend was supposed to come and hang out tonight. This is a friend I haven't seen since I drove her home from the airport about a year ago(due to work and school and stuff). She's neither called, nor showed. I've been ditched, me thinks.

2) Here is one for my fellow WoW-nerds: After we watched Blizzcon 2009 online, Matt and I decided we were going to go to 2010's convention NO MATTER WHAT. Well....Blizzcon 2010 hasn't been -officially- announced, but the Las Vegas Convention Center(which is infinitely larger than the Anaheim Convention Center) has been booked for it. For July 30-31st, 2010. Which just so happens to be Matt and I's wedding weekend. (hopefully) Thanks, Blizz. Really. (though the amount of jokes being flung back and forth that we should move the wedding to Blizzcon and have Metzen marry us is proving to be very amusing...)

3) I tried to order a movie from my On Demand service, only to find out that it's down for some unknown reason.

Tonight just sucks. :(

Hmmm...are you sure it has? I don't think the are moving it to Las Vegas, maybe Los Angelos, but they would have to pay all their employees to go to LV for 2 days. I'll check with my honey when he gets home, but I seriously doubt its actually going to be there. People rumor that every year.

To both of you:

It has nothing to do with the people that post there. I also do not lose sleep over ANYTHING on VJ - I'm sorry, I just don't care about these forums that much.

Regardless of that - relating to the Adam Walsh thread: I am a big believer in honoring the dead, and especially those who lost their lives in gruesome ways, and even if it's "not a big deal" it's still rude.

Relating to the yardies thread: I've never even visited the Jamaican forums - how the hell could I form an opinion on the people that post there? Len, you of all people should know better about me than to think that. It's just frustrating to me and has been since I first saw it because I am the type of person who likes to know useless information and have yet to receive a proper answer as to what the eff a "yardie" is.

Unless someone booked the LVCC under "Blizzcon 2010" as a joke (which I doubt), you can confirm it by going to the LVCC website and looking up the dates. It's there.

Hmm..we shall see. So far he says hes been told they dont think its right but theres nothing official yet. The reason we don't think its practical is because they lose money every year, and they would have to either pay their employees (I'd say 90% of Blizzcon Employees are from the Irvine center) to go 4 hours away, plus room and food, or they would have to hire other people. Plus the hotel prices can be a lot higher there, and they would have to move all their computers for the demos and stuff. *shrug* I will let you know when I know more, but for now it seems to me that if its true its there Blizzard will be pissed because they havent announced the dates or location yet, and if its not they won't be happy about a place falsely advertising.

I ate too much for breakfast and now I have a HUGE stomach ache.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

From wikipedia:

Yardie is a term stemming from the slang name given to occupants of government yards in Trenchtown, a neighborhood in West Kingston, Jamaica. Trenchtown was originally built as a housing project following devastation caused by Hurricane Charlie. Each development was built around a central courtyard with communal cooking facilities. Poverty, crime, and gang violence became endemic in the neighborhood, leading the occupants of Trenchtown to be in part stigmatized by the term "Yardie".

Rather doubtful the convention center would be publicizing it if Blizzard hadn't announced it officially yet..... just saying

It is very hard to convey emotions when typing. Well that's what I've found anyway.

I have no problem imparting emotion in typing and I thought the sentiment in the original posts was quite clear. I do understand the sensitivity regarding adam walsh, hence why I think Kathryn clarified the title. The yardies reference I thought was like picking on a group of people for their dialect.

Me too, I just had to be super asian today (no offense to anyone, I'm asian!) and down a giant bowl of rice. I feel sick to my stomach.

Bah. You're truly reading too much into it. At least, I never intended anything like that when I mentioned it. I didn't even know which group of people it was that had that thread -- I would have assumed Scotland, to be honest (just try saying that thread name in a Scottish accent...c'mon, it's fun!).
