Oh Geeze, a Siamese? Yes, they are a law onto themselves! They are very people oriented and can become very fixated on an individual. They can also be very opinionated, very vocal and very stubborn! I used to cat sit a Siamese that held me personally responsible for his owners' absence. You've never been properly glared at and treated with disdain until it is done by a Siamese!. :P

Sleeping under covers is a normal thing for cats as is sleeping all day so at least that isn't out of the ordinary. Is the apartment kept on the cooler side? Siamese like a warm environment so probably finds under the covers nice, snuggly and warm.

Yes, he is very fixated with my husband...I think I could love him for another 10 years and he will still be glued to my husband. He hates to be alone, always requires attention and I find he is very snotty and competitive when we are both in the room with my husband lol...it's funny actually, cause he really thinks he's human...if he hears my husbands voice in the house, and cannot get to him...he howls and cries something out of a horror film lol...I also find that he is very vengeful and at times, feel as though he purposely does things to get back at me...but then again, I could have just built this in my head lol

the in law apartment is kept cooler, cause we don't use it as much...so I can see the need for warmth...we do place blankets and my husbands shirts on his couch for him to cuddle..he truly is a handful tell ya!

I have no choice but to treat him human lol...

Again...I truly try hard, cause I know that to my husband, he is family :)

Today is the day of Sh!ttyness.

First, our caterer tells us he's closing his business, so now we need to find another one.

Second, for me to get coverage under Varba's insurance, we'd have to pay for the whole month of December, even tho I'd only be on the plan 1 (one) day in December...

/sigh

Hey, all. It's been a while.

The time has come to file for my husband's 10-year green card, but our marriage is on the rocks, to put it very mildly. A big part of me doesn't even want to file but I don't know if I'd be able to live with myself if I didn't because I know it would destroy him to have to go back to Canada.

I have never in all of my life met anyone as financially irresponsible as him. In the past 4 months alone he has overdrawn the bank account by over $1,000. I only work part-time now because of my poor health and he was unemployed all year until he got a trucking job in August, and now he brings in even less than he did on unemployment after deductions.

I don't even know where we're going to come up with the money to file, anyway.

There are a lot of other issues, but this is the one I'm the most p*ssed-off about right now.

I have been wondering about you necrotica. Sorry to hear that. I don't even know what I would do, you have a good heart to want to try to help him remove his conditions. I'd be super pissed, and I'd probably leave if my spouse put me in that kind of debt. It's really irresponsible and unfair to the both of you.

If it wasn't for the immigration issues, we would have been divorced a long time ago.

(editing to add that NO, we did not commit immigration fraud; we went through this because we love(d) each other and wanted to be together. It was definitely a bona fide marriage and I have all the paperwork to prove that. It's just that I've discovered the hard way that we are not compatible at all as husband and wife, and I had no way of knowing that until he was actually here.)

Sorry to hear things aren't going well Necrotica :(

I know how you feel about having someone who isn't financially responsible. If I let John do any of the financial stuff, we'd be filing for bankruptcy, and running from collections.

But, he knows that he's horrible at it, and knew that if things were going to work and his credit was going to get any better, he'd have to give up any rights to dealing with finances.

Also feel your pain about employment and money situations.

I hope everything works out for you.

I try and make things easy for everyone involved in this wedding planning process. Our projected wedding date has changed roughly 6 times now to accommodate his parents. For anyone else, I'd tell them to go eff themselves, but these are his parents, and his parents have been nothing but wonderful to me.

We finally settled on July 31st... then realized how backlogged Montreal was. Still hopeful, we planned a secondary date of October 10th. It's a Sunday, but leaves quirkiness into the date (10/10/10), and it's also a holiday weekend in Canada. I'm fairly certain we'll have the visa by then... but what if we get it sooner? So I start rethinking again -- and then realize that my photographer is booked on July 31st. I don't want any other photographer, so that day is now null and void. October 10th is viable (his family isn't that large, and not all of them are going to make it down here I dont think..) but GRRRRRRR.

I know that most of this probably makes little to no sense, but I need to ramble. October 10th is so far away, but maybe I should just go with it on a hope and a prayer that we have his visa by then.... :( Montreal's not that backlogged that it would take almost a year to get it ... right?

You have to be careful with 10/10/10. It's considered a very lucky day to get married, so you might want to book way ahead of time incase you can't have your July date.
