Ok, sooooooo I have 2 vents today.

A: My neighbor upstairs was SUPER noisy last night. I feel like I'm still getting over my cold so I get pretty tired around 11PM. I go to bed at 11:30 and at midnight i hear my neighbor STOMPING down the stairs to go out to the bar. Ok, wake up for a couple minutes, go back to sleep. So at 2:30 they come back from the bar and aren't very quiet about it. I shrug it off because it's the weekend and I can sleep in. NOPE! She gets up at 8 and stomps downstairs.

I will say that the stairs are right next to my bedroom (this place is an old house that was converted into apartments). I have never had a problem with anyone living upstairs before, and I'm not goign to start complaining now since I'm moving soon. I have a feeling she's having people over tonight because she's been cleaning all day, so I'm going to my friend's for the evening.

I was so excited yesterday, I was almost done my xmas shopping. The only people I needed to shop for were my bother (I picked his name for a gift in my family this year) and my Grandma. I figured while I was out I'd help Varba shop for his sister (since he picked her name). Well the mail from his sister says we buy the person we picked a big gift then we buy everyone else something small or stocking gifts. WHOA, this isn't what I agreed to. We agreed that we would pick a name and only buy a gift for that person, and Varba's mom would make us stockings, since she likes it so much. So today I had to go out and buy dinky little things for everyone's stockings. I was so grumpy when I was shopping, no one even looked at me LOL.

I understand Varba's sister is really good with coupons and can get a bunch of free stuff, but I don't have time (and it's not as popular in Canada) for that kind of stuff.

They don't seem to be listening to anything we ask about. I mean, we're going ALL the way to North Carolina to avoid my dearest mum. I told Varba that this year they ran Christmas, so next year we're running it or NO ONE is getting gifts from us.

12/31/2009 - Marriage

08/04/2010 - Green Card received (and it's actually green!)

05/30/2012 - Sent ROC packet to VSC

06/08/2012 - Received NOA1 for ROC (Dated 06/04/2012)

Ugh. I need a better memory.

I moved back home for a few days before I POE to make it easier on my parents.

I'm on my netbook since I dont want to set up my PC again. I tried logging onto my online banking and since it didn't recognize this computer it asked me security questions.

I failed to answer both (It's been like 1+ year since I saw them, what do you expect, lols) and now I have to call them to unlock my bank account. Ugh.

At least with this I can ask a few questions at the same time.

I'm so glad it seems my family has decided to do NO gifts this year. Just cards and Christmas dinner. That pleases me greatly!

My annoyance at this time of year can be summed up thus:

It's Christmas time within the shopping mall:

It's etched upon each visage like a sign;

The festive joy is heard in every whine,

Goodwill and peace rings clear in every bawl;

Amidst each brimming shop and market stall

The faithful jostle for a place in line,

And give to each cashier, as to a shrine,

Their credit cards and place themselves in thrall.

It's not the act of giving I detest,

(For what could be as great as charity?)

Nor is it that the yuletide should be blessed;

What bothers me is this disparity:

An obligation at someone's behest

Wraps any gift in insincerity.

The last couple of days were amazing.

Ben was down. We drove to Montreal and despite poor weather and my inexperience on the 401, we had no issues getting to the hotel.

Interview was a breeze, the city was lovely, and we had no problems driving back home yesterday.

Enjoyed an extra night here in town, drove Ben back so he could catch the shuttle to the airport, and even dodged a huge bullet in realizing he didn't have his passport on him before we left my place.

But then, of course, an hour after he lands, I get a phone call and now he's miserable so I'm miserable.

His truck was hit by some idiot (we assume) was leaving a neighbour's driveway, and they dinged the driver side's door fairly good. Of course, no proof as to who did it/when/whatnot, so it'll at least be a deductible out of pocket, which we can't afford right now.

His room is in shambles, since he's been fixing it up with his dad for the past couple of weeks. His room is a double garage turned rec room, turned bedroom when he moved in over a year ago, but he never bothered really fixing it up as it suited what he needed. Now, with my moving in too, we talked about fixing it up and he surprised me with the news that he had started work on it a couple of weeks ago, and that he's been living out of their family room the entire time. Well, he expected work to continue while he was gone the past couple of days so he could finally move all of his stuff back into it, but it hasn't, so he's grumpy about that. And, with Thanksgiving to boot and all of his ####### laying about the house, he's got to find a place to put all of it while family is over.

And I myself am dreading work, because I've only got a count of about nine work days left at my job, as I've already given notice, and my boss finally, just recently, came to the realization that if he keeps pulling me off projects that should be finished before I go, they will never actually get done. And despite the fact that I finally told him, before I left for Montreal, that I'm not going to stress over projects that he is preventing me from finishing, I know he's still going to ask me ETAs on all of the ongoing things that he won't actually allow me to dedicate time to.

Quite the rant for a Sunday night, but there it is.

I guess vacation never really lasts all that long...

Ohmygosh, Sam and Ben, I just read the review of your interview. That is AWESOME!!!!! Especially the part about the angry lady being relieved of her duties. I mean, I never like to wish bad karma on anyone, but she really wasn't suited for the situation. Hopefully, this will cause her to reflect on her actions and bring about a change.

Ben's grumpiness probably has a lot to do with being apart again. Especially after the Montreal high. Leaving you behind was probably pretty upsetting for him. Especially now that you're so close to being together. Sorry about the truck, though. That sux. :(

I SO wish I could do that. :(

My husband told me he plans for us to leave for his parents' place on Tuesday. :(

With you?

Yes. With me. :(

I'm still hopeful that I can convince him to leave on Wednesday. I hope. I know that it's his family and that he misses them as much as I do mine, so I'm not going to be a witch about it. I just wish I didn't hate it there so much. :(

Where is the thread about the grouchy lady getting canned???

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1
