Nope...no shenanigans. I've only been here for a mere five weeks. Amazing, isn't it? Feels like five months...

I liked the questions if i planned on being a prostitute and if I had kidnapped a child or was hiding a child somewhere in the world...

 Oh yeah, gotta love it. They look all serious when asking too. I should have said yes just to see the reaction :P

When did you start using vowels again?! Trying to spell shenanigans without using the e, a or i would have been interesting.

so I think our new neighbors might be jerks :P

I think I might have mentioned that when they first moved in a few weeks ago they parked in our spot because another neighbor was parked in theirs.. which is fine we understood and my hubby just talked to the guy and he moved the car.. so we figured that was the end of that..

well last night hubby comes in kind of upset and says the neighbor's car is parked in our spot again (thier other vehicle is parked was parked in their spot) it is too late to ask them to move it so he just leaves a note saying something like "please don't park in our spot, thanks". and he just parked in the back alley because Tuesdays is street cleaning day and he didn't want to get up early to move it off the street.. luckily he didn't get a ticket...

so this morning I call hubby from work and he says he was up at 10:30am because he heard the neighbors.. he says he is pretty sure he heard them talking about the note and he heard the wife say something like "f-- that"

we have been polite about all this so I think this is uncalled for.. when we first moved in and made the mistake of parking in someone else's spot.. they told my hubby that they had almost gotten our car towed :o

Can you park right behind them when they park in your spot, basically blocking them in so that they have to come and get you to move? Also, maybe put up a sign that says "Parking reserved for Apartment XXX - violators will be towed"?

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

My vent:

The new mammography guidelines in the US. #######!!! Women 40-49 should not be getting annual mammograms unless they're at risk??? Women 50-74 every 2 years?!?!?!

What the hell are these doctors thinking?

That is so awful, I heard about that this morning. How could they do that, when so many women catch breast cancer early through mammograms and not self exams?

There is nothing to prove that mammograms prior to age 50 are necessary. That's why they made the recommendation. In Canada, unless you have a family genetic history of breast cancer, you don't get them before you're 50 as well.

My question would be, what makes someone "at risk" - family history? I think that Dr.'s will be able to get around this by just claiming their patients are at risk. Well, I hope so anyways.

Yes, and I'm sure that will also be a recommendation.

Omg. Every day... I come in about 30 minutes early because I like the sound of silence in the office, and it's just something that helps me prepare for the day. I do it with every job... with that being said, every day the cleaning lady talks to me, and every day I try to be really nice and just nod but inside I am like: "I don't come to work 30 minutes early so you can talk to me!"

So finally this morning I told her: "I really have a lot of work to do, and I'm pretty sure you do too.." and I tried to say it in the nicest way possible.

Well... I MADE HER CRY! She started freaking crying! #######!? I was very nice about it... as nice as I could have possibly been.

And I just know the fact that she cried is going to make people think I'm the wicked witch of the west or something, but come on! Every day she talks my hear off about the same thing.

She got bit by a spider 7 months ago and she's STILL going on about it.

Sounds like she's really lonely. Maybe she has no friends, and no one else to talk to. Are you in an office where you could close your door? Maybe you could meet her later in the day or set some time aside to talk to her at coffee break. I'm sure she'd love that.

Are you thinking (the bolded part) me?:lol:

Unfortunately, no one has the right to put up signage except city, municipal and other such entities. This signage has to be approved probably by the town Marilyn lives in. I'm sure the building owner could put it up but he would have to contact the proper authorities first and get the approval from them.

I order signage for the university I work at every week. The laws are very particular.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

No, everyone around the office. The maintenance guy is her boss and he came back and said: "And I thought you Canadians were nice!" and word travelled fast and now everyones like: "Nevada, made her cry!"

I wouldn't go out for coffee with this woman because she doesn't interest me at all. It's not my fault she's lonely nor is it my responsibilty. I know that's harsh, but I have enough on my plate than to have to worry if she has a friend. She'd be a sympathy friend... I don't want one of those. :P
