I really hope things start going better for you soon - that your husband finds a job and that your green card - or at least the EAD - comes.

Regarding the shower drain, something we've done here with clogged drains is to take a hanger and open it up - find one of those softer, thinner, metal ones - and then use that like a snake - it can pull out crud from the drain as well as punch a hole through. That is a cheap fix for now, and then when your finances improve you can get one of those home versions of the flexible plastic 'snake'. That one also works - but I used the hanger technique until we picked one up.

Someone whom I despise at work was essentially forced to take a week vacation last week. She is one of those people who has no life outside of her job, and two weeks ago, she had a bit of a meltdown. Her co-workers and supervisor chalked it up to "Stress" rather than admit that she's incompetent. I got a little to used to her not being here annoying me every 10 minutes. So, upon her return yesterday, she is being double the annoying that she normally is. The thing that got me was her declaration that she was amazed that they managed to get work done in her absence. Yeah, it's one of those days already.

I am tired of being blamed for other peoples incompetence. If someone is computer illiterate, then it is not my problem. I am not a supervisor... I never signed up to be one. I have trained these people on how to print out a simple report but they can't... so for some reason it's my fault that I didn't do it before leaving on Friday. You know what? No one told me to do it and I assumed everyone else knew how to do it.

No I am not taking the blame for this one... sorry.

I even made a manual... full of lame cliparts... it was like a freaking picture book with step by step instructions.... everyone has access to this. No one uses it. But they all had a good laugh at it and said: "Does she think we're morons?"

Um yea as a matter of fact, I do.

Is your supervisor blaming you, or is it just the morons who didn't do their own job who are blaming you?

My boss is blaming me. I told her that she needs to train herself properly and the other staff properly.

This is not and never was my problem and if she wants to make it my problem... give me a raise and throw in another weeks vacation.

Next time your boss says anything, you can say "I tried showing everyone how to do it. I can't be blamed for their failure to even listen".

Yes, but if someone let it slip to the target of her insults and it was corroborated, it would be a hefty lawsuit, or at least the threat of one to secure her termination.

Sure and then perhaps I could get paid more for what I'm already doing... her job. No in all seriousness I like my hours, my four day work week and I wouldn't want to do what she does.

She's not a mean person to me, she's just dense and sort of ditzy at times. She doesn't make my job hard, she just makes things feel flighty sometimes. I don't think I mind her... I mean if she got canned and someone new came in and they were mean, I could see myself wishing for her back.
