I know it's stupid but it's my vent.

I absolutely LOATHE giving people directions. With all of the technology out there today, and with maps... you shouldn't have to call to get play by play directions. Turn on a computer and figure it out.

Yes it's silly but I hate it. :)

I don't mind giving directions so much, as I hate it when people call and want you to give them keywords to enter into their GPS unit because it isn't recognizing the address you gave them.

I think thats beautiful. Is it creepy that I always want to touch the stomach of pregnant ladies? laughing.gif

I think pregnancy is just amazing.

When I was pregnant I felt absolutely gorgeous and awesome. Yea I had my bouts of sickness, back aches, breast pain... but its such an amazing experience.

I love my big boobs!

Oh man... saying no is the hardest thing ever. Or, it used to be. I found that despite my strong character, i'd pretty much bend over backwards for people I cared about, no matter how wrong they were or how much 'no' they deserved. Really ended up biting me in the butt. As when I needed some bending over, they were shocked, appalled and would in no way accommodate me. Lesson learned? Just say no when your gut says so. It works so much better that way.

I have a great excuse--"I'm going to be out of town." :-)

Its been a while since I vented so here we go.......

Maybe I should just list them in numbers....lol

Got a mild concussion during training at work (i was the teenager) being restrained and the two "employees" were supposed to break my fall....my head hit the mat pretty hard. Workers comp paperwork, trip the doctor....the next week I start feeling shortness of breath and dizzy.....ER hospital visit with CT scan....no problems except sinus cavities FULL! "chronic sinusitis"

Doctor follow up yesterday....prescribed me allergy meds....forgot to say i preferred non-drowsy (I have damn job!!) Forgot to ask for a release to finish my physical part of TCI due to the mild concussion. Feel very tired and trying to study for my self paced med transcription course is hell on wheels when you are drowsy!! My bathroom is now a pharmacy!!

Have an allergy test at the end of the month....I CANNOT take ALLERGY MEDS for SEVEN days prior to the test! :crying: Oh boy that is going to be a dreadful week!! I have never had allergy problems like this until moving to the USA! Some of it may be from the puppy we got in October...I hope not:(

Work is well....going good just when I am on my last day of 4 I am completely burnt! I can't deal...I've listened and had to play damage control at work enough that more emotional stuff is too much! Friends marital problems when the SO is overseas really tough.

Most of all I just want my hubby home!! :crying: Not getting to talk to him enough (2x week??) because of our work schedules & time zone diff is really sucking! Skype and IM....gosh I feel like I am in the middle of an immigration process again! But at least then I got to talk to him almost everyday!

Thank you for listening...

Oh friends yes, yes but a stranger's tummy, never! I have HUGE personal boundaries so I would never impinge on anyone else's. And only friends when invited then yeah, the ole hey baby how are you type thing.

I've seen strangers touch a pregnant woman before and it gave me the creeps!

I would never do it.

My vent is about the 'joys' of home ownership  .

First - we got our new assessment last week and the bottom fell out of the value of our home. Joe has been living here and paying on it for nearly 8 years now and this year the assessment came in at $20,000 BELOW what we still owe on the house. Fortunately, we are not thinking of moving anytime soon.

Second - our neighbours have termites so now we have to get the termite inspector out for our house. Our initial termite protection warranty has expired so it means having to redo the termite protection and start paying that expensive maintenance fee. I don't think we have them but two neighbours have now so it is a possibility.

Third - our apple tree and possibly our two pear trees and our Bradford Pear tree have Fire Blight. Something that is like Fire Blight is also killing our fig tree. It is past the blossom stage which is the only stage where you can apply anything to prevent the damage and possible death of the tree. I have the U of Georgia specialist coming out next week to give the official diagnosis but it is rampant this year due to the high humidity, warm days, cool nights we have been experiencing. The only thing we will be able to do is heavy pruning to remove the dying branches - which may or may not control the disease for now.

and of course, today the temperature got up into the high 80s outside and there is high humidity. I turned on the A/C (we have it set at 79) when the temperature in the house was 82. An hour later it still felt warm so I went to check - and the temperature inside is 83 (it is now 84). So, the fan is working but the A/C isn't. We have a service contract so I called them - and the earliest they can get out is Saturday afternoon. We had lunch plans on Saturday afternoon in a City south of here - so, the lunch plans are cancelled and we are now waiting for a service man to repair the A/C. Last July it stopped working as well and they replaced a part - the capacitor - that they had also replaced the year before. At least if it is the same part it is still covered under the warranty this year - last year the warranty had expired 3 days before.

I did find out that you don't need to buy special chemicals to treat ants though - put down cornmeal or corn grits instead. The ants eat the cornmeal, take it home to the nest, then it swells when they drink water and kills them. Going to go out and try it now on the fire ants - it is supposed to work on them too.

Put powdered sugar and baking soda into a bottle cap. It has the same effect.

Cool! Another good technique to use.

So I get in my car this morning and there's bird ####### all over my window. This happens to me ALL of the time... so I start running my wipers and fluid and try to get it off... while driving... but it's not really wiping, it's just smearing bird ####### ALL over my window. Then I run out of wiper fluid.... so nothing is coming out and I'm driving with ####### smeared ALL over my window. I just wanted to crawl into a hole and die.

Yea tgif.
