That ticks me off as well. I always pick up after my dog, but have seen others that don't! If I'm close by I just offer them a dog! Do I care if they are offended? hell no, not as if I would want to be friends with people like that, lol

As a non dog owner...I sincerely appreciate you scooping the poop. Frankly I don't even want epople letting their dog poop on my grass because I don't even want the slime of the picked-up poop leftover.

I understand that people love their pets...but I wish people would be more responsible about them

You offer them a dog?

blink.gif

It's just so un-neighborly. hey there, howz about I let my dog take a ####### in your yard? There are two people on our street whose dog could have done it. I am going to tell both of them that we put down poisonous fertilizer on our grass and they should their dogs away. It's a little passive aggressive but apparently you're not supposed to accuse your neighbors of being effing pigs to their faces so...

That ticks me off as well. I always pick up after my dog, but have seen others that don't! If I'm close by I just offer them a dog! Do I care if they are offended? hell no, not as if I would want to be friends with people like that, lol

Yes I keep a pack of dogs on me at all times, lol sometimes if I leave the pack of dogs at home, hand them over a dog bag,lol

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

My husband will just kill those people, Lgg. :P He's had his share of stepping on doggy poop.

We have not met anyone who lets their dog do that yet, thank god.

Finally married... and still married... ;)

I always pick up after my dog,but I just love the false bravado you see from some people when your dog craps on their lawn. I always steer my dog to the strip of grass that is in between the street and the sidewalk, but none the less, people will make their little comments. I call them out on it each and every time I hear them.

I would be one of those people but ONLY if I got the feeling that said dog owner was just going to walk away. Most people are good about having a dog but those that aren't? Not cool. But yeah, i'd be puffing out my chest feathers too until I saw the deed get done.

I'd get my poop bag out just to use it to smear it into the grass in your yard

I actually feel really guilty if I dont pick up my dog's poop. I forgot a bag once and ran to the top floor of my apartment building to get one so I wouldn't get in trouble.

I just feel so, so bad.

I was in an irc about a week ago and this topic came up. 3 people were from Malta and not a single person picks up their dog poop there, even though the law says you have to. Apparently not even police officers pick it up :/

Gross.

Haha I remember this debate coming up before here. When my dog wants to take a dump, she goes... AND I'll clean it up!

There's probably more garbage on their porch than what my dog just let go on their lawn.

I think the worst person when it comes to being ####### retentive about their lawn is my wifes uncle. He yelled at me for stepping on it.

I don't give a crikey about stepping on grass but stepping on ####### is so awful especially when it's some jackass who doesn't know how to pick up after their own pet.

Come and walk on my lawn, DO IT. Just don't ####### on it.

I'm stuck in Montreal...not because of the snowstorm, but because of a group of terrorist birds who committed suicide on the jets of our plane! We're grounded for another day.

But that's not my vent, since that is beyond Westjets control...but boo on Westjet for putting us up in a 2-star airport "hotel." When we checked into the Quality Hotel, the non-smoking room was a decrepit smoky motel room (I got hubby to comb through the bed for any blood spots and/or bugs) and one of the chairs was broken! When I called Westjet to complain that the hotel was subpar, they said they won't upgrade us.

But I was persistant and successfully negotiated a $150/night reimbursement of a hotel of my choice so I did and got the four-starred Le Centre Sheraton Hotel downtown. Not as nice as Le Westin where we stayed earlier, but I'm relieved.

Boo on Quality Hotel who, in effort to keep our business, offered to upgrade us for free to a king-bed room and tried to pass themselves as a four-star hotel. What am I--stupid?! No thanks!

Sigh, tired from all the excitement of the day--blizzard/visa interview/surprise flight cancellation/both me and hubby coming down with a cold. Looking toward a good night sleep.
