So today I enjoyed the first sunny, warm day that we've had in quite awhile. I went for a run, walked my 10,000 steps and took a bike ride around the old psych ward a few miles away from us -- very Shutter Island!!!

anyway, came home and turned on the TV and my day was ruined by a show called The Wendy O Williams show or something. What is with that chick???? HOWYOUDOIN'???? yes, yes, I changed the channel but WOW, had no idea about that...

So offensive.

:(

IMHO

I try to stick to HGTV. Unfortunately that can be an expensive channel to watch if you live in a 40 year old "in need of renovation" house.

LOL Sam, and they couldn't have just told you that at the office?

You mean, when he pulled up my info on the system to see if there was a hold on it, why couldn't he have told me it was just mailed out?

Good question. :P

I'm going to give a major benefit of the doubt here and say that perhaps he didn't have access to that particular screen. Maybe.

Grrrrrr. Joe has had a really bad chronic cough since January. It gets bad at night and he often wakes up with it. He really dislikes seeing doctors and after weeks of trying, I finally talked him in to getting an appointment. I called the doctor's office Sunday afternoon - they are open 1 - 5 pm - and at 1:10 left a message on their answering machine that they were supposed to open at 1 and I needed to make an appointment - then called back at 1:20 and got someone. I asked for the earliest appointments they had this week with the physician's assistant (on my recommendation - Joe doesn't like the doctor at all!) but they only had two appointments open for her - one this Wednesday at 6:20 and the other on Friday at 8 pm. So, I asked if his doctor had any appointments and he isn't even in this week. So,I asked Joe if the Wednesday appointment would be alright. He said he could work from home that day and be able to make it that way, so I booked it. So, he worked from home today and left at 6 pm for the appointment. 15 minutes later he called and said "they don't have me down for an appointment - and the physician's assistant isn't even working tonight!". WHAT!? Joe heard me make the two calls and book the appointment so he knows we definitely did. Doesn't matter though, the woman I spoke to never made the appointment in spite of me confirming the date and time with her at the end of our conversation. Anyway, they have said they will try to squeeze him in with another doctor who is in the evening, but I am really, really annoyed. It is such a hassle to get Joe to seek medical attention to begin with and now this happens - and he really needs to have this looked into.

Fortunately, I have a friend who speaks highly of her family doctor so I think tomorrow I will be giving her a call and getting her doctor's name and phone number. I doubt I will ever be able to get Joe to go back to this one.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

want me to bvtch slap those dumb-dumbs for you? I hate that sort of frustration -- it makes me cry too!

:)

I don't want to sue, but there has to be something that can be done. I am holding a valid, legal US government documents stating that my green card has been extended for a full year while I wait for my green card. If they don't want to give me an extension on my license what am I supposed to do?

I need to go to work... I need to drive my son to hockey... I can't live without a car... not in the area I'm in.

I left in tears... and not because I was sad, I was freaking pissed off.

So I understand people not wanting to deal with the DMV, and you're right it wasn't like this back home. Sorry for the comparison, I try not to do it but that is one thing I can agree on.

I work in law enforcement.... I win. Oh wait, I guess that would be I lose.

To address the DMV complaints. I can sum it up quite easily. The employees were quite indifferent, and deluged on a daily basis, and then, a year ago, they got furloughed. So I imagine they care even less now. Rhiann, make an appointment when you go to the DMV otherwise you'll wait 1-2 hours minimum to be seen. This is southern california after all, the population here is roughly that of all of Canada :P

Okay so I eat VERY regimented, only certain foods, certain ratios of protein/carbs/fat, and only at specified times. Well today is not only a baby shower type thing for one of my co-workers, we have a huge cafeteria downstairs yet everyone keeps bringing their food back to their desks so they can surf the net while at lunch.

Here I am, about another 35 minutes away from lunch, and all I can smell is pizza, pop, crazy bread from Little Caesars, freshly made french fries, and chocolate. This is going to be a rough day Lol.

My wife has been back since June 5, 2007. Now we're just livin' man, L I V I N :)

Lirpa Sloof... hahaha clever.

When I was in public school (around middle school age I guess, grade 7-8 or something?) my "friends" at the time decided to "pretend" they weren't friends with me any more. Yeah, that sucked. Now we're REALLY not friends anymore.
