When I found myself compiling a list of the current stress factors in my life, and WoW counted among them, I decided it was certainly one I could live without.

Hooray for solo-questing until my subscription runs out in a couple of weeks.

Well EQ2 doesn't stress me out. I've been in the same guild for 3 years now, so if I can't raid I don't sweat it. It's not like they are going to boot me.

I think that stems back to the discussion regarding WoW's demographic. I just don't have the patience for fart/washroom jokes or hearing some basement hoarder toking every ten minutes over vent. And we have bad luck with guilds, it seems.

lmao. Yeah Sean said today that we should try to "convert" you and Ben to EQ2. People who come to EQ2 from WoW say the same things . . . immature little kids run the guilds and the chat.

I love my guild. Our guild leader is a Network Administrator for a large corporation in Atlanta. He is 38. We are all grown-ups, except for a 15 year old who is VERY mature and we all love him.

We got pretty lucky with our current guild in WoW - run by guys all 30+ with families. We try to avoid recruiting anyone under 18 (not saying there aren't mature under 18'rs!).

Yeah, there are a lot of guilds that are for 18+. I would definately look for that kind of crowd. Our recruits go through a process where we make sure they are a good fit before they are allowed to be members.

3 years in the same guild is quite the testament. I think the last guild I held out in for that long was... Ben's guild, way back when I first started playing.

Marrying the guild leader five years later, always a nice story for the grandkids, haha.

I don't know what it is about Wow in relation to other games that attracts the kiddies, but oi...

And the women... oh boy. It never fails... I will join a guild, the novelty of "omg a girl on vent!" wears off (thank goodness), and then some pseudo 900-operator female joins and decides to put all of her effort into playing the coy pornstar gamer personality. Thanks hun, you just made my life more difficult. And having your boyfriend/fiance in the same guild, bearing the comments... *sigh* Raiding quickly becomes less fun.

I almost started playing EQ a couple of years back, during a short hiatus from WoW. A couple of friends had gotten into it and were trying to convince me that it was a good idea to join them.

Unrelated, my current vent: It's still Monday. I am both desperately wishing for it to be Wednesday, and at the same time, cringing at how close to the interview that will be.

There are only four? women in my guild. Three of 'em are married. The other one we're pretty sure is asexual, so the guys leave her alone. It's kinda nice, actually. Hubby is an officer so that helps.

We have the same number of women and men. A lot of us are couples that met through the game, others are married and play together.

Sean is a raid officer and he is great at it. I am so proud of him.
