no..not painful, like a sunburn from the sun...but itchy and pink!! I may be told today not to have my session and to wait a few days. Great..and we're going to Charlotte NC tomorrow morning to have lunch with friends. I can just see it now..*scratch; scratch* "so good to see you..." *scratch* "how have you been?"...*scratch; squirm in chair*..."anything new?".....

Hope you get your furnace fixed soon...

Booh to Sony!

I bought Mathew Final Fantasy XIII for his PS3 and after about 6 hours of game time the PS froze and now it wont ready ANY disc. After some google searching we find out that it`s been a huge issue with the old PS3`s and that Sony is doing nothing to fix it or help people, so people were planning to bombard sony with calls yesterday. We called at about 9 last night and sure enough the guy told me he had never heard of the problem and that it`d be 150 to fix it since his was out of warranty.

I think it`s just #######. His PS3 has less than 50 hours of gameplay on it, and he`s had it since 2008. There isn`t a single scratch on the machine whatsoever because he`s taken such good care of it. I don`t see why he should have to pay for something that HE didn`t cause. If he let it overheat, played it too much, or didn`t handle it correctly I could see paying all that money to have it fixed. But not whenever it`s something he couldn`t control. Warranty or no warranty there`s nothing he could have done to prevent this.

I have a feeling we`ll be going to Best Buy tonight when he gets home from work. It`s either $150 to fix it and have it break again or $299, and buy a brand new one that doesn`t have the problem. Guess which one sounds more appealing...hmmmm..

LoL, I think my wife is genetically incapable of tanning. But then again, I have yet to see a tanned Canadian. (Getting extremely burned and then a slight tan doesn't count :P)

Did it take you long to get the miles vs. kilometres speed handled? I'll admit, we used the iPhone to google 'how many kilometres is 70 MPH'. lol Then we eventually figured out how to change the units on the speedometre. That helped a lot. lol We're apparently not the sharpest tools in the shed :P Though I am proud to say that to figure out how to change the units on the car we looked in the old-fashioned paper manual in the glove box... rather than the iPhone/Google. lol

Yeah, I love that about newer cars -- change from Metric to "English" (don't ask me why they call it that...) at the touch of a button. I've always had a firm grasp of the relationship between U.S. measurements and Canadian ones though. Ounces I'm not so good with...but with most of the others, I feel like I'm "bilingual".

I'm looking forward to that in my next car, especially when driving to Canada on a somewhat regular basis (less so in a few weeks after Yvonne moves, but still...).

However, sometimes that little critter can be wrong...telling us to turn left when we should turn right..and we're still trying to figure out why it made us circle around an entire block to our hotel, when we could have drove straight down the street, made a u-turn...and pulled up in front of it!!

Check the settings on the device. My nüvi has a list of checkboxes in the settings for things you can tell it to avoid or not -- it may have been configured not to suggest U-turns, and did the best it could in working around that.

Yes...I've noticed that our upstairs neighbors have been playing loud music too. It's quite annoying, really. I can actually tell that it's decent music (I think there was some Portishead playing if I could determine the bass and drums correctly), but it's booming a bit too much for my comfort. I'm sitting here, trying to write comprehensive cover letters and I'm distracted by the BOOMP BOOMP BOOMP coming from upstairs. If it keeps going on, I'll call the front desk about it. I hate to do that though, because I totally understand the temptation to blast music sometimes. I just don't give into it until I'm in my car.
