If I am going on a long drive, I'll use my husbands cell phone. Anywhere local, I just drive... if my car breaks down I'll wave someone down and hope they're not an axe murderer... :P

I have pulled over to help people with their flat tires so I figure I have some good karma in there somewhere.

I don't think I'll be able to fight it though, my husband insists I have a phone... and has been pushing me to get one for a while.

You know what I dislike? I don't like it when people call me when I am out and leave me voice mails, I also dislike texting... I just don't like people.. WAH WAH WAH pass the cheese! :D

I'm kidding.. sorta.

I also HATE anyone who uses the lion king theme as their ring tone... do they think its cute? It's always overweight 40 something year old women...

ROFLMAO.

I was always anti-texting and smartphones..... until I got one. I think i've sent more text messages in the past 5 days than I did in all of 2009

The only time I like voicemails is if i'm screening calls

Yea it's just my family will call and like have conversations with my voicemail, and they think its funny. I have my husbands old iphone without a SIM card so it's just like an ipod touch, he wants to activate it, but I'm fighting the good pointless fight!

If you activate it and have an iPhone, you'll have to start going to weezer concerts and watch streaming videos while :P

Rob.. that is by far the best reason to activate it, and I think my husband will thank you!

My husbands iphone is more of a pain in the #######. Everytime we go somewhere he has to "check in" with this stupid gowalla app. It's like a giant treasure hunt. It's super annoying! We could be out for a nice dinner and he'll be checking in.

But but but, you could win prizes from checking in

I tell people that I screen calls and don't take phonecalls if I don't feel like it. It's funny, my phone will ring at home and my wife will say "are you going to answer that?" after it rings a few times. I'll say "i don't feel like it right now", to which she'll get up, grab my phone, and make me answer it

I have like the least amount of patience for people who call the office lost and who use a GPS.

I wouldn't mind giving directions if people would just shut up about their GPS. Listen, I don't care what your GPS says, I'm letting you know that you've gone the wrong way! Oh but your GPS says what? Well I am telling you to shut the hell up and listen to me.

It's like they call.. tell me their GPS has led them to the wrong place, I'll tell them where to go, and they'll say: "Oh well my GPS says go here.." Fine go there, what do I know? I just live here!

I swear these are the same people who would say in grade school: "Well that's not true because my mom said..."

Sorry I think I have vented about this before but it happens so often why not vent about it one more time! :D

if they can't read a map and can't use a gps properly, maybe they are too dumb to drive?

Same here. It's so easy to read a map, study it, figure out where you're going before getting in your car. I am always so surprised with people who just plug in their GPS and drive. I couldn't depend on a computer like that... no sir-ee-bob. :P

I tend to do both -- I'll check out an area up front on the map, but then use the GPS to help guide me turn-by-turn. Worst case, the GPS can typically re-orient you and alter its directions if you go off it's preferred course.

One half-way compromise idea: put the SIM back in it anyway, but don't activate it back on AT&T. Even though it's not activated, it's required by law in the US (I don't know about Canada) that even unactivated or deactivated cell phones be able to dial 911 in an emergency. If it's not active, you can't make or receive any other calls on it, but it's there in case you need it in a pinch.

You should see the directions that some GPS devices give here in L.A.. They are absolutely insane.

But I'm a part time superhero, if there's ever an emergency I can pretty much get out of it. I may not have a SIM card but my cape and swim goggles are ALWAYS near by.
