Just because a woman doesn't take her husband's last name doesn't mean she's not a "Mrs"

Why don't people get that. The GM at our work the other day corrected a document I created for two new members, the wife didn't take the husbands last name but they were still married. I explained to him that she's still married and therefore a "Mrs" and he didn't understand that because he said she didn't take his last name. But they're STILL married. Everyone even googled it and everything, it's still a title that is associated with being married... not all women take their husbands last name. I didn't.

Yes, still a Mrs. I agree - however I also use my own name and it kind of annoys me when they call me Mrs. <my maiden name> - i'm Ms! Mrs <my maiden name> is my Mother :hehe:

Well this woman put her name on her application as Mrs and when I was writing their bios for the newsletter, the GM wanted me to change it. I was like: "She is a Mrs... they're married" she referred to herself as a Mrs. He didn't agree, saying that because she didn't take his last name she was a Ms. So everyone googled it, and found out that yes, if you're married you can be a Mrs. It's perfectly okay to be a Ms if you want to be, but if you would rather be a Mrs... thats fine too. He wanted to flat out deny it.

Don't want to go pissing off the Equity members now. :P

you got a +1 for this post.

reading through off topic, you'll see a bunch of minuses next to some posters and their post isn't offensive at all - it's like this is high school again.

I clicked on a +1 on a post further up the list here...but the button is so small I hit the minus instead, and now I cannot change it :(

Thats so lame when someone is clearly wrong and will keep arguing until they are blue in the face, just because they refuse to accept that they are wrong.

You get a minus 1 for giving incorrect information. It's actually just disabled to reflect in each person's profile.

Ok, so I know that they reputation thing in everyones profile has been disabled. But what are we talking about here? I thought we were talking about the post rep thing that appears on this page, lower right hand corner, or does it only appear on the specific post that was voted up or down?

The +/- shows up on the actual post itself.

You can edit for 5 minutes, that's all! So you have to type madly and proof read everything you say 15 times before posting :hehe:

Ugh, that seems.....inconvenient

I think my only other real complaint about the new boards is that everyones story in their profile seems to have vanished, I used to like reading them and seeing that my fiancee and I arent the only ones to meet online in an MMO initially :D

Mine still shows a story.. it's along the left-hand side in a panel far too thin to hold it, actually.

Once I find that it won't be changed due to someone's complains, I'll probably rewrite it so it doesn't look so poorly formatted. Pet peeve of mine.
