@ Scooter, Geez, there are times I hate people and your story is one of those times!

"You must be loving this! It's like you're at home with all of this snow!"

-Yes minus the lack of organization, and lame snow removal programs, its just like home. Oh and loved the constant news coverage all day Wednesday... I really would have rather watched the view though.

"Tell Canada to take back this snow"

-No, I won't.

"Now I know you probably could have come in even though there was a snow day, this is probably not a lot of snow to you!"

-No, I don't have snow tires and the roads weren't clear and yes I think this is a lot of snow.

"Did you bring this snow with you?"

-Yes I've lived here for two years now and have kept this storm hidden in my closet with my beaver pelts and mukluks.

"Did you finally get to use your snowshoes? Bet you haven't used your snowshoes since Canada"

-I have never owned a pair of snow shoes in my life

Just some of the things being said to me today... over and over again.

Hey you're from Jersey! Are you a Soprano? Do you kill people? Do you have an uncle named Vinny?

"You're from Canada? Wow. Must have been cold!"

- Yes. Canada. It was a frozen hostile wasteland. And there was much work to be done if we were to survive the elements. After boring a hole through the ice to find food, my good friend Nantuk and I would build an igloo to protect ourselves from polar bears and flying hockey pucks. And then we would drink alot of beer, and when Nantuk was ready, he would tell me the story of the great moose who said to the little squirrel, "Hey Rocky! Watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat!"--Jim Carrey

I highly recommend persuading your husband to be come a suga daddy. When my wife started making all types of monies I noticed that my stress level dropped significantly haha :)

I should, considering he's been the cause of about 70% of the stress in my life since he's been here. I'd be THRILLED if he would do something to reduce that.

Well, the winter storm warning did become a reality here. It started snowing about 1:30 and we now have close to 3 inches on the ground. Atlanta proper only has 4 snowploughs apparently so it will be interesting. Right now it isn't a problem as the snow is thick and wet but as the temperature drops the slush will freeze and the roads turn to ice. Already the news is reporting all of the accidents on the roads and the interstates are at a crawl. I have maybe 300 red-winged blackbirds in our back yard! The bird feeders, all the trees, the bushes and the ground are all covered with black birds going crazy at the feeders. I feel like I'm in an Alfred Hitchcock movie - except for the 3 bright red cardinals who break up the black. It is kind of fun actually.

(I guess I'm not really venting now that there is lots of snow - I'm just venting that this is the Deep South and we are not supposed to have snow!)

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Ugh, I am really pissed off at the coverage here for the Olympics already.

It's 8pm PST and they havnt even started showing the opening ceremony yet! They're talking about showing it, but they havnt showed it! All they're doing is talking about the US athletes!

I wish I could watch the Canadian coverage.

Arghhhhhhh.

So I got a land line last week and we've stopped being so dependent on cell phones. I have to unplug it on weekends because my mother will call me at like 7:00 am and ask me why I'm still sleeping. She thinks that it's funny... maybe it's only funny to her.

It's really annoying.

:)

Also I get like 2-4 calls from her every night and I've actually stopped answering my phone.

I am not sure if this is a Vent or just the beginning of one, but I was not impressed that I couldn't watch the Opening Ceremonies until 9pm brodcasted on King5...

I was reading all about the Ceremonies on Facebook before they even started!! Man I hope I get to watch some of the events that I usually would....and I hope that I can stream CTV on my laptop or I am gonna miss all kinds of great Canadian moments!!!

That's pretty horrible, ZansGirl. I can't believe they didn't show the Opening Ceremonies live. That really surprises me.

I was ticked off by the fact that they had commercial breaks during the ceremonies. Something like that should have been uninterrupted, in my opinion. I'm aware that there are sponsors that need to get product plugs...but it just felt tactless.

But I would be more pissed off if I couldn't watch it, simply because the network didn't want to carry it live. I'm truly quite surprised!

If I don't get to see every USA and Team Canada hockey game that each plays I'm going to be UBER pissed haha

Yeah...I'm kinda miffed that there are going to be some non-USA and non-Canada games I'll have to miss too. At least there's a Slovakia vs. Russia game on Thursday. Hopefully it doesn't get pre-empted by curling or something...
