Ugh! Sisters suck, Rev. Really. I mean...not all...I'm sure some folks have fabulous sisters. I guess you and I aren't among them though.

I mentioned earlier about how my sister let loose over the phone about how she thought I was being used, and how much she didn't like my wife after meeting at Christmas etc. We didn't speak for several months after that. Well NOW she's completely the opposite, going on to my mother about how great she things my wife is etc. It's nauseating because she's the most shallow, insincere person I know. Bleh. Don't worry Rev...you'll be away from your sister soon enough.

I remember your situation with your sister! Mine, however is great person (most of the time), with good intentions and a good heart (to everyone else)--but just an unhappy person. The criticism only goes one way--from her mouth about me and my life. While she steams quietly about my pregnancy, I only want her to find happiness (and leave me alone). She's the only family member I had to cut off from my facebook.

Counting down the days when I'm moving out soon.

I find that generally - bitter, unhappy, jealous people just want to destroy the happiness and successes of other people. Its sad but true. And it sucks, because when I encounter people like that, I end up feeling guilty bec Im happy...

Anyway, it seems that way about most of the folks we are venting about. Im sorry you guys have to experience that, Wyatt and Reven. And her being unsupportive of your pregnancy is just so sad, Rev :(

Finally married... and still married... ;)

Sigh, Frances, ever since I fell in love with an incredible American who happens to be Black, it's been an uphill battle with my parents, one sister, and one now ex-girlfriend. However, my parents seem to have backed off, with my Mom finally turning around and being interested in my pregnancy. All the other family and friends are supportive or mind their own business.

I make no apologies--I love my husband and that is the most important thing in my life.

It's SO amazing to me how stigmas like that still exist. I guess things are getting better with each generation...but it's just such a fundamental WRONGness to judge a person solely by the color of his or her skin. It's pathetic, and it also greatly misses the point: that you LOVE him. If they can't value that fact over all others, they can't possibly respect YOU.

It's pretty harsh. You're a lucky girl to have a guy who clearly loves you so much that he can endure a negative family opinion, second-hand or no.

I love him dearly, Wyatt, bless his heart! I know that if it was his family that disaproved me, I would have buckled under the stress and broken off our relationship a long time ago.

I really like my Sister!

However I know what you are talking about Wyatt - I call it 'sister syndrome' - I guess it's a jealousy thing.

first off I am really ticked at our car insurance company.. my husband went in the other day to cancel the insurance on the one car we sold.. we knew beforehand that they were going to charge us $35 to cancel it... and I also told my husband to pay the car insurance for this month because it was coming up due... here is the part that ticks me off, the lady said that we had to pay the full insurance for the month because they had already billed us  so not only did we have to pay 35 bucks to cancel but we had to pay another 30 bucks for a car we no longer have  oh and to top it all off, they charged us about 10 bucks to pay the insurance at the office...

That's what I liked about my insurance company in Canada..... they'd backdate everything and made sure I received a rebate. I know when we changed the insurance with GEICO from my old car to my new car, we had no problem whatsoever. No additional charges... nothing. You should ask to speak with that woman's supervisor, Marilyn. There is no way I'd be letting them take advantage like that. They'd soon find themselves my ex-insurance company.

my other vent is with my hubby's work.. he put in his vacation day request a few days ago, this is for our July trip to Canada... he hadn't heard anything about his vacation day request so he talked to his supervisor and he said that he can't let him know until the beginning of March and gave some lame excuse... this is really bizarre because usually they let him know within a few days...

Is it a unionized environment? I get the impression that it's not. I don't know how helpful this site will be, but I'll put it out there.... California Department of Industrial Relations

And then there's my husbands parents business. I've been working for them for free for months. I don't do it for 40 hours a week and I pretty much come in and help when I want, but I'm there at least 3 out of the 5 working days and every single Saturday. They pay me a little once and a while when they want, but I haven't been paid anything for over a month. If I don't go help then I don't want to be part of the family and see the business succeed, but when I do come they don't want to pay me to be there. Then there is my SIL who recently dropped out of college. They hired her on full time and pay her for working full time hours when she doesn't even do much. I feel stuck in this situation. Its also sad that I really wouldn't mind working for them if they would pay me like a normal employee. I need to get the courage up to have a serious conversation with them I guess.

That would hurt. I know it would be hard, but I would not go in to help him anymore. Tell them you are focusing your attention on searching for a position which will earn you an income. Your husband has been tasked with opening a subsidiary shop. He needs to run it in a professional manner. And that includes making sure he has the necessary staff with compensatory wages.

I keep getting random people add me to msn.

I hate it when that happens, especially when I have no clue how they got my email... I don't really make it public.

It's a new marketing tool. Mostly, they are chinese marketers who try to get you to go to some website where they are selling stuff that will either never be shipped, or is vastly different from what is advertised. I was getting this for a while and I would always decline because I had no idea who they were, but one time, I did add someone. The name was very similar to a friend of mine from university, so I thought that maybe she got married and changed her name. So I added them and then a day later, I get a message where she was very chatty but evasive about details. So finally, I just asked, are you Lucy ___________? She said no, so I bluntly asked Who are you? She went on and on about this website etc and how great their products were and cheap. I told her straight out that I was not going to buy anything from a chinese website, and she continued to talk to me, and told me about how this was her job etc, and she thanked me for not being rude.
