I have this giant calendar on my desk. However, I am really bad at keeping it current. I just realized just now that I still had january up . Just as I tear off january and am looking through february to mark down paydays and which fridays I have off, I realize... Ohhh this week end is a 4 day weekend for me (President's Day next monday). Then I notice tuesday is Fat Tuesday, and it dawns on me. Aww #######, ash wednesday is the next day, and then it's Lent. I was on the phone with my wife at the time I realized this and when I said "ahhhhh #######, ash wednesday is next week", she says "ohhhhh yay, that means pancake tuesday is the day before". I thought she was crazy for a bit. I had to actually look that one up. That is seriously werid, and something I just couldn't give into. It will ALWAYS be Fat Tuesday to me.

Days like today make me realize just how far I am from my family...

Dad is in the hospital.. They admitted him but has to spend night in the ER due to lack of beds upstairs...

He will be okay from the way mom said what happened but I still worry. I guess a few days in the hospital to run some tests..

Just wish I could go visit him, I'm sure he's fine, just still sucks....I'm a 15 hr drive from family...:(

Thank you everyone. It's hard being away when things like this are going on! I hope the figure out what's wrong once & for all!

They finally got him out of the ER, not in a room yet... But at least on a ward in the hallway...

Sigh. So my copy of Microsoft Office (2003 version) aparently hates vista, so my wife is unable to install it in her computer. So I am sitting here at work, recreating her resume. I suddenly realized how much I hate filling out resume's. This process is further complicated by my wife's insistance on telling the truth all the time. I keep telling her that everyone lies on their resumes. Aparently not everyone does. I keep typing out these exaggerated descriptions of her job duties at previous jobs and end up deleting it because i know she'll kick me in the butt.

Ha! That's so funny. I was going over my resume with my wife this morning and she was pretty much in YOUR shoes, and I was in your wife's. She's like, "You need to say that you've done such-and-such" and I'm all like, "But I haven't done such and such!" And she's like..."It doesn't matter, because you CAN do such-and-such and it's close to what you did do and just LOOKS better if you say you did such-and-such!"

I never lie (no really...never!), so even exaggerating a little on a resume runs against my grain.

Yeah, neither do I, my biggest fear in life is getting caught out in a lie and then having it all come crashing down! The humiliation would be too much to bear...

I will, however, highlight a skill set to coincide with the needs of a job but I won't lie about whether they exist or not.

:D

Like Chef Robert Irvine from dinner impossible, totally lied on his resume, got canned, but they ended up bringing him back anyways.

I can't lie on my resume either, but I have had friends put me down on theirs and lied about who I was and and who they were. Getting a call from someone thinking I was the manager at a Winners was probably the funniest of all. Like give me a heads up at least!

Donne moi une poptart!
