Guess 1 has to remember that they are new, and in their mind they do NOT know if VJ is a legit site! I know I don't put a lot of trust in new things! Friends fil lur mind with junk, then one comes to a board and they tell you something different! lol

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Bow, I'm sorry but I seriously laughed out loud at "stern kick in the left fig"

Lolz!!!!!

Sorry... .

But you haven't said a wrong thing yet so... kudos to you and all your patience...

Lol Oh I'm glad the questions are asked and I'm glad that she got off the illegal way so quickly. It just always surprises me when it just seems the person is waiting for someone to pat them on the back and tell them doing it the wrong way is okay or that anything in this funky process is a sure thing.

I remember when my wife and I went to Montreal I thought it was in the bag and then it felt like a stern kick square to the left fig when we were denied Lol. People need to know that every part of this process has the potential to suck royally haha.

Yeah I agree with you flames. I think sometimes people can get a bit cynical after a while and as soon as someone posts these questions there are people yelling FRAUD and INTENT and BANNED FOR LIFE.

I don't think that they think we are a bunch of morons that didn't look in to AOS or whatever, I think they just don't understand the actual differences - and maybe we could cut them a little slack.

They say death comes in threes...

In September, it was my maternal grandfather.

In November, it was my paternal grandmother.

Now, it's my dear Uncle Dale.

I never got to see him often because I lived in the Midwest all my life and he and my aunt lived in Pennsylvania, but we got along SO well the few times we did get to meet up. He was so awesome. We had this inside joke because we both used to be so gluttonous: "We do not eat to live; we live to eat!"

I'm not a Christian, but I hope, if there is an afterlife, that it is good to him.

At least he's not suffering anymore.

Ugh. -_- If my family could stop dying now, that would be wonderful.

I'm sorry for your loss. It is always hard when you don't get to say goodbye :((F)

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Husband: The date on my green card says it expires on the 11th, eh? (he was driving at the time, which was why he asked me rather than looking at it himself)

Me: No; it's on the 8th.

Him: O...k. I have to pass through [some place I don't remember] and they'll look at my green card.

Me: You have your NOA1 that extends your status for another year.

Him: I forgot to bring it with me.

Me: ...

Him: It's ok; they'll see that I'm legal when they look up my status in the computer.

I SURE HOPE SO. He's in El Paso right now, and I have absolutely no way of getting his NOA1 to him if he's detained.

WHy have we been the House O' Illness for 2 weeks now? It just keeps cycling through us. First, Declan had a nasty stomach bug for days, then I got it. Then he got it again for a day. Well, last night, I got home and hubby was absolutely miserable. Then I woke up at 2 am puking (sorry for the TMI). We have been religious about handwashing and washing laundry and stuff. I will fricking scream if Declan gets another round of this.

Sounds like it's time to bring a guest over and give it to them so it will walk out the door and leave you guys alone!

Whoa, no vents for 2 days?!

What's wrong with you guys!

Well I'll start.

My husband's sister just texted us, asking if we're surviving. His mom's away in Taiwan, so it makes me think that she thinks that we're SO dependant on his mother that we're going insane with her away.

Nice to know she sees us like that <_<
