Good luck with your interview MrsCat.

Your 'awake' story made me think back to last night - where someones car alarm went off for at least an hour, possibly more. Luckily their battery died before we went to bed. Guess that's the difference between noise where you live and noise where we live

 OMG that's awful, the battery had to die before the owner corrected the problem.

Hope your new house doesn't have car-alarm people.

This is going to sound like such a stupid vent but I had the worst sleep ever last night. The humpbacks are migrating right now in front of the house, and all night they were flapping their tails and fins. It sounded like a fat-man doing belly flops off the high-dive echoing through the house. I have an interview today and am going to have big bags under my eyes.

I would love to hear that one morning...on vacation, LOL.

Yeah, good luck Mrs. Cat.

After your successful interview, take pictures of whales for us!

I've never lived near the coast of any body of water, much less the ocean. Heck, I still haven't gotten to see the Pacific Ocean at all!

:)

Montreal Interviewer: "What do you have in common with each other?"

Peachey: "We're REALLY weird."

Montreal Interviewer (incredulously to me): "Do you agree with that?"

<I think back to several days before the interview. Driving through the country, passing a field with cows...>

Peachey: "MOOOO! MOOOOO! Does this make me weird?"

Me: "No, well yes. Here, let me roll down the windows so they can hear you better!"

Peachey: "MOOOOO!!!!"

<back to interview>

Me: "Yes, yes I do."

So, I got a bill today from CRA saying I owe them $79.00 for a GST credit I wasn't eligible to receive. Pretty annoying considering I changed my address with them back in June so they just started sending me cheques to my US address. When I got it I sent it back to them! I didn't cash it.

So I call the hotline to complain. I wait on hold for 15 minutes just for the person to say, "oh, you don't owe us any money, we got the cheque back" Ummm then why did you send me a bill?! Rawr.

Looking forward to hearing how your interview went, MrsCat! You should film the whales and their noises for us so we can hear it too!

Oh the part of having a lack of sleep definitely sucks but what a cool story to tell people about why you couldn't. I couldn't sleep on Monday cause I had a dream where I lived with my wife across the street from zombies and kept waking up to make sure they didn't find out that "alive" people were living across there. I kept waking up and was more and more angry everytime telling myself that I don't even mind zombies that much hahaha.

Hm. Maybe I should try that Magnesium thing... I wake up randomly in the middle of the night and sometimes it takes like 30 min to an hour to fall back asleep... But maybe I should learn to take my normal vitamins before I try this

One really has to watch what they take when it comes to supplements! Too little or to much of a certain electrolyte is NOT good! Just do a simple google search on hypomagensia and HYPERmagnesia! People should be gettign an annual check up and that check up should include various blood tests that check common electrolyte levels and others! ie potassium, magnesium, H&H, CBC, WBC, etc etc etc!! Not just start popping pills, lol

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

You sound like a health care professional on a tv ad. :hehe:

I have been on the phone for hourssssss

Had to call and get home ins quotes and while I had them on the phone, with one of the 2 I called I got an auto ins quote, which reminded me to call Allstate U.S. and ask for a letter of experience - again - confirming that they have never sent one.

Cable, Electric - had an argument with the gas company - so i'm leaving them for gas company call, part 2, tomorrow.

Ho hum.

On the plus side it caused you to leave this vent which reminded me to get my address updated with them so I don't get another check and to get my direct deposit stuff done before I do my taxes so I dont have to worry about the refund (if i get one)

Here is a useful link to look at regarding magnesium and supplementation http://dietary-supplements.info.nih.gov/fa...s/magnesium.asp . Certainly getting blood values tested to check on potassium, magnesium, calcium, etc. levels is a good idea. However, read over the dietary sources and look at any multi-vitamins you might be taking and consider how close you come to the daily required amount - the majority of Americans are not getting enough magnesium in their diet and supplements seldom provide the daily amount.

I do know that adding a magnesium/calcium supplement along with extra vitamin D ( I was already taking supplementation but lab test results showed I was still deficient in vitamin D so we increased the amount) did stop my waking up in the middle of the night and not being able to get back to sleep. As I also have diabetes, low magnesium is one of the additional common side-effects.

2 years ago I had a massive ear infection and after 2 rounds of treatment, I was sent to an ENT doctor for a check up... They did a hearing test and at that point I had lost some of my hearing in that ear and was suffering from tinnitus. The doc gave me a supplement that helped stop the ringing in my ear and it worked and eventually 90% of my hearing loss came back. Now the tinnitus has come back and its annoying the ####### outta me. Not too long ago I threw out the remaining supplements I was given because they were old and now I wish I kept them or at least wrote down the name of them so I could by them again... this ringing is driving me nuts!!!!!
