That documentary gave me serious nightmares. :dead: We're making slow changes, like we've started to buy grass-fed local beef. The cow with the hole in its stomach to check for e-coli from being fed corn feed was horrific.

Also, trying to cut back on all the processed foods. Its hard. We've become accustomed to meal preparation as opening various cans and stirring.

Today, I'm making homemade bread. After 10 minutes of kneading, I'm recalling how much easier it is to just pay $6.00 for a loaf. BUT, no HFCS in this stuff!

I started cooking every night to save money and Im glad I did as I do control the ingredients of our food... but I still buy conventional meat. I promised myself that I will slowly start buying grass-fed animals and just consume less so its not too pricey. But the dairy will be sooo hard and expensive bec my husband can consume a whole jug of milk a week... by himself :P

Cutting process foods is hard at first, but its really worthwhile. Ive stopped buying chips and cookies, and Ill make my own cookies/sweets... then I sneak oatmeal and nuts to increase the nutritional content and not feel too bad when I finish off 4-5 pieces! One thing I do miss is iced tea.. but GAWD, have you ever looked at the ingredients in a can of iced tea mix??? Ive started brewing my own tea and flavoring it with fruit... it does take longer.

If you buy bread from a bakery, it prolly will contain more conventional ingredients than not.

Reven: That is one thing I realized when I moved to the US (both from the Philippines and Canada) -- the absence of REAL Cadburry chocolates. It makes me so sad to think about it too... :( But its prolly good for my waist line as I have not eaten a bar of chocolate since moving here :D

Oh Mrs Cat: Im gonna watch Killer at Large, and see if its good. Its another food-related documentary. Will let ya know!

I hate that networks seem to despise all of my favourite shows and kill them long before they're due.

I'm going to stop watching TV.

Dollhouse. On Fox.

never heard of it but I just googled it and it looked like a cool idea for a storyline.

so frustrating to see good shows get cancelled when some crappy ones just go on forever.

I totally want one. But I can't find any here, Wal-Mart, Macy's don't carry them.

You can buy them online at walmart MrsCat! That's where I bought mine - just the $50 one - works like a charm.

Wow! What happened Bern? Shoplifting?

Yeah, at the Wal-mart in Marlborough Mall. There were like 10-15 teenagers, about 5-6 cops, and tons of flashing lights. It was crazy, but yeah, I'm assuming shop lifting. Like all of the teens were in hand cuffs. x_X

Dollhouse. On Fox.

Joss Whedon has the WORST luck. And always with Fox, too...

I enjoyed the first season of Dollhouse, and look forward to seeing the second (and last) season when it comes out on DVD.

With the exception of LOST for this final season only, I don't watch TV shows while they're actually on TV...I watch them as TV on DVD. I just can't stand commercial breaks, plus waiting for a week (often more) between shows!
