I just finished watching Food Inc. and King Corn and came to the conclusion that everything has HFCS. Its disgusting.

That documentary gave me serious nightmares. :dead: We're making slow changes, like we've started to buy grass-fed local beef. The cow with the hole in its stomach to check for e-coli from being fed corn feed was horrific.

Also, trying to cut back on all the processed foods. Its hard. We've become accustomed to meal preparation as opening various cans and stirring.

Today, I'm making homemade bread. After 10 minutes of kneading, I'm recalling how much easier it is to just pay $6.00 for a loaf. BUT, no HFCS in this stuff!

you could get a bread machine.. what I do is make the dough in the machine and then take it out and put in in a loaf pan, let it rise once more and then bake it...

I am not terribly fond of the texture of the bread baked in a bread machine..

I totally want one. But I can't find any here, Wal-Mart, Macy's don't carry them.

As I munched on a Cadbury DairyMilk with stale hazelnuts chocolate bar, I'm reminded why I don't like cheapy (as in quality) run-of-the-mill chocolate bars. I'm not used to being hungry like this all the time, thus eating convenience processed food like chips, chocolate bars, and McD's. :pop:

Of all the chocolate bars, I don't mind the Wunderbar--but I can't find them in the US anywhere! If Kraft Foods is successful at bidding for Cadbury, hopefully we'll start seeing wunderbars in the States.

Little secret - most of the 'Cadbury's' chocolate in the States is actually made by Hershey (no wonder it's blech)! :o

Although things may change again after the takeover by Kraft...

Indeed, yuck!

Hershey/Cadbury

I find that even the Canadian versions are a step down from the British versions! ;)

Yeah, I worked in the kitchen of the main Purdy's Chocolates factory several years ago, and it spoiled me, really... Once you spend a few months getting to know good chocolate, the Pot of Gold stuff or even basic chocolate bars don't have quite the same appeal.

Oh who am I kidding. I still eat them.

P.S.: MrsCat? You're cute. :)

Yeah, I have a bit of the same problem with that. My husband laughs at me. He says I'm the only one he knows who will go into a bathroom, restaurant, etc, and will leave it cleaner than when I went in.

I do the same thing!

I also have a habit of cleaning up the ATM booths at banks. I have to pick up all the scrap paper and tidy up before I start my transaction.
