Could be worse.

One of my friends is obsessed with thinking he can handle his liquor.

Last time I went drinking with him, he ended up talking about marinara volcanoes and the one ring before passing out. His wife kindly opened the drapes to let the sunlight in a couple hours later.

*chortle*

Be glad it was vodka and not absythne, as tasty as absythne is.

I find the absinthe that you get in N.America is quite tame compared to the real stuff you can get in Europe.

Lol I remember a few years ago it was standard practice for my friends and I to have 'Thirsty Thursdays' where we'd drink and play cards or whatever until 3am, then all would have to work around 8:30am the next day. I can not tell you how many times Friday mornings felt like a few steps from death Lol, hope you feel better!!

My wife has been back since June 5, 2007. Now we're just livin' man, L I V I N :)

Yea I remember in Canada waking up drunk still and going in to work.

Worked in hospitality so it was normal to go out with everyone after work on Friday, get trashed and then get up at 7:00 am to get things moving for a wedding that evening.

Glad those days are over.

And you wouldn't believe how many calls I'd get from staff calling in "drunk", no shame... just telling the truth. They'd get a write up, but they didn't care.

Lol I remember at a job I was at a bar at midnight and knew I wasn't going to make it in the next day so I went outside and tried to call in saying I wasn't feeling good and couldn't sleep. That was going to work just fine until my friend walked behind me and screamed "It's my birthday let's get more shooooooooooooooots!!". Yeah I went into work the next day and was promptly fired hahaha.

To this day, Thursdays are STILL my favourite night of the week to go out! It's because you can stay out late, get silly and Friday is usually casual day AND anyone can make it through another day and then it's the weekend.

Thursdays for the win!!!!!

:D

I agree. A lot of the time during the summers my husband and I will go out on Thursdays. Fridays I'm like: "Ya I'm hungover but as soon as the day is over I am done!"

Friday is my motivation. :D

I find the absinthe that you get in N.America is quite tame compared to the real stuff you can get in Europe.

The stuff we had was amazing.

It was "imported" from Russia at great expense.

Montreal Interviewer: "What do you have in common with each other?"

Peachey: "We're REALLY weird."

Montreal Interviewer (incredulously to me): "Do you agree with that?"

<I think back to several days before the interview. Driving through the country, passing a field with cows...>

Peachey: "MOOOO! MOOOOO! Does this make me weird?"

Me: "No, well yes. Here, let me roll down the windows so they can hear you better!"

Peachey: "MOOOOO!!!!"

<back to interview>

Me: "Yes, yes I do."

At the time, it was a banned substance in the US due to one of the chemicals found in wormwood.

Accourding to wikipedia, it's apparently legal here now. Wonder if it's the same as what I had. Cause man that was good!

On the bright side, you don't have an employer to hide from and you're going to feel better in the morning.

So very, very true.

Hubby being woken up early by my hangover was an unfortunate occurrence, though...

I got a call today from my aunt that her boyfriend's grandma is dying. :( She's in her early 90's. She has a blood filled sac in her lungs and is bleeding in her brain. Poor woman. :(
