I am terrible with texting too! It takes me FOREVER to write out a sentence.

I just don't like it... you wanna talk? CALL ME. Don't send me texts. I hate it.

Lol I managed to go without a cell until my second year in college, then it just needed to be done. Now I just text with friends and family and then make sure it's near me in case my wife or someone has an emergency. I can't STAND talking on the phone so I try to text whenever possible :)

My wife has been back since June 5, 2007. Now we're just livin' man, L I V I N :)

Lol I wonder if you need to get a visa if you move to a tropical island with your husband and son and live like Tarzan and Jane haha

If you do you'll have to custom-out your loin cloth as you need to keep that PR card with you at all times

I used to hate texting too, until I got a blackberry. Full keyboard makes a huge difference!!

See I don't even like that. I tried my coworkers droid and I use my husbands iphone, and I have his old one that I just use for the internet, it's more like an ipod touch because the phone doesn't work... and I can't stand typing on it.

This all made me laugh!!!

And word on the texting thing -- it's handy and all (get it, HANDY!?!?) but damn, I am bad at it and I am a stickler for correct usage, spelling and grammar so, don't even try to get all CU2nite on my azz because I will cut a b1tch!

;)

I don't have a landline, just a cellphone but I'll tell you -- I am lucky if it rings a few times a week...

Hubby and I hate texting too--but it's cheaper to communicate than call cell day minutes, so we just suffer through it when we're not connected by computer. No landline for either of us too.

You and Sprailenes are what I call "Social introverts"--chatty on the net but introverted in real life. LOL, that's me too.

That's me too, actually. I'm also pretty good in a small group of people I know well and that I feel comfortable with. Then I can let go and just chit chat. But I am really not that great with a large group of people that I don't know that well.

I think Social Introvert is a perfect description, actually...

Good one, Reven...

I'm the same way, I almost always have my phone off and then I get the odd voice mail from my husband turning me to turn my cellphone on.

And I DISLIKE deployments very much. They're so darned long. Oh well, only a month and 10 days to go. >(

No I am actually the opposite... I talk non stop IRL.

I am an extrovert to the T. I would rather talk on the phone than text though.

Montreal Interviewer: "What do you have in common with each other?"

Peachey: "We're REALLY weird."

Montreal Interviewer (incredulously to me): "Do you agree with that?"

<I think back to several days before the interview. Driving through the country, passing a field with cows...>

Peachey: "MOOOO! MOOOOO! Does this make me weird?"

Me: "No, well yes. Here, let me roll down the windows so they can hear you better!"

Peachey: "MOOOOO!!!!"

<back to interview>

Me: "Yes, yes I do."

I used to abhor texting, mostly because the texts i'd get from friends usually required some sort of cipher. I find texting useful, but situational mostly. I am quite outgoing and tend to talk too much. When my wife was still living in Canada, I was hyper sensitive about it and would clam up so as not to appear like the stereotypical loudmouth obnoxious american.

I NEVER talk on the phone, sept maybe to my husband and such. and I will talk non-stop to my friends and people I like.

People I don't know or large groups where I know, no one? Nope. Call me Clammy McClammerson.

I hate the phone but I LOVE talking and yakking to my friends. In real life. In person.

On the internet it's easy to be a hybrid of that as shyness or insecurity don't show as much.

:D
