Nice collection there, Mal!

Yeah...my family is the same way. My father has had more muscle cars than I can count, including at least two Camaros in the '70's and a '79 Trans Am in the '80's (the one I bought was a different car, but the same model year). My mother had a Z28 in the late '70's, then had a Buick Grand National in the late '80's. She eventually sold it in 1991...but my father wound up buying another one in 1996 and was the president of the Grand National Racing Association for a few years. He finally sold it a couple of years ago when he got into hydroplane racing instead.

No wonder I'm such a leadfoot. :P

The first car I ever drove, indeed the car I learned to drive in was a 1960s something (and no it wasn't new <_< ) Oldsmobile Delta 88 brougham....I can't find a picture of one online, I suspect they didn't make that many.

It was white and a beautiful car and it was also gigantic - possibly one of the biggest cars ever made :lol:

I think there is an advantage to starting out driving in a huge car, no other car has ever seemed too big since.

I kind of think that car is cool...

:}

what a difference a decade makes!!! I bought that car back in '84 and drove it until '87....we could fit a lot of kids in that car...including the trunk!! (when drive in's were lie 6.50 for a carload!! We got our money worth!!!) But I was constantly teased for my 'orange' crate on wheels.....

I sold it when I moved and bought ...wait for it....a Hyundai Pony Hatchback!!!

My parents had a Brown Chevette! I loved that car.

When the sold it, they sold it to a girl down the road from us. That thing just wouldn't go away. I think she had it for at least another 5-6 years and it was old when we sold it to her!

I'd like to think that not a single square inch of metal from my Chevette is still in existence today. I've never resented...or downright hated a car more! I should have called it Christine. :P

Oooh! A car thread! No wait. It's the vent thread. Never mind. Here's my first car. lol. A 1964 Ford Galaxie 500. Only mine was black. We used to cruise the strip and then see who was in the A&W..... back when the A&W was a drive-in and they'd put the food on a tray on your window. I've craved Coney Fries ever since they shut it down. lol
