Yeah, there are actually some of those places right here in Langley, too. It has always bugged the hell out of me (no pun intended). I'm fine with people having a belief in a god / gods etc., and even fine with people having a religion (so long as they don't try to convert others...). But having it explicit in an ad is actually offensive to me. There's a meat shop near me that makes a point of having the Christian "fish" symbol in their ads... There's a moving company whose name escapes me that has a tagline that goes something like, "Moving Christian families since 1993." I'm sorry, but since I'm not Christian, does that make all my belongings unpure? Can you not make physical contact with my dresser, lest its residual atheism contaminate you? Shouldn't faith be a personal thing? Sigh.

I was astounded! I saw another ad for a woman who said "I am a white person" - I reported the racist ads.

The thing is, I didn't find the Christian ad to be as offensive - I mean I was thinking that when I read it - it's not unusual for people of different religions to support each other - but regardless, any type of singling out like this pushes people in to categories - it's just so wrong. Maybe I should be more outraged by the Christian ad, but i'm not. hmm I doubt I would be offended by people of other religions singling themselves out either - if it was 'we are buddist cleaners' - that wouldn't bother me either.

There is also an ad there for cleaners that are 'non-smoking, non-drinking' - hey, what you smoke or drink in your own home is none of my business.

Ok, how stupid is this.

As I type this my Husband is at this place we are thinking of buying. We are paying $360.00 for an inspection - so the inspector, realtor and my Husband are all there (this place is owned by CHMC btw, it's a foreclosure).

They don't have the water turned on!!!!

I mean the three most important things are plumbing, electricity and structural soundness. If there is no water how the hell is it supposed to be inspected.

I just texted my Husband and said - they don't turn the water on, we don't buy it.

Thank you MrsCat! it's still throbbing! I will be welcoming the warm up of the weather to high 20's low 30's! Now if my husband and I get get my car unstuck at the bottom of the hill tomorrow that would be great! It's stuck in the parking lot below us for another apartment building! Stupid sanitation truck picked a good day to come up the road that only one car can pass at a time, I moved over then got stuck trying to get back on the road. I couldn't go forward, the only place I could go without blocking traffic was down a small hill which leads to parking for the building below us!

I love living in this apartment.... It's quiet but the hilly area is torture when the winter storms keep on coming!! Almost 3 ft of snow in the past month!

If we don't get the car out..... I guess I am driving hubby to work & taking his car to my job interview that I already had to reschedule once due to this wicked weather and my car being stuck!

Grrr tow truck wouldn't even pull me out... He said he wasn't going to risk getting stuck on the hill, not enough sand. Road assistance only authorized me for 10ft of winching! Well that's not gonna help much if you pull me out of my parki ng spot and I STILL can't get out!! Yes.... I'm stuck in a parking spot.... Wheels spinning and all! So icy underneath! Still need enough momentum to get up the hill, I could only get about 1/2 up then i started sliding backwards!

ah yes the tow which I waited 9 hours for the first day I called couldn't even get to me be ause of a car blocking the only entrance in and out, his truck would have hit the car apparently!!

Made 2 calls to complain to apartment managers about the sitatution.... " oh he coukd've gotten around"... The second time to complain that no sand/salt had been put down nor had it been plowed where my car is stuck! Heard the bobcat later on that day .... But went down to check the area today... Looks like nothing had been done!!

uggggggghhhhhh!

Pass the liquor.....

I'm not sure about your area, but in my area back in Canada if they didn't clear it for you or there was ice on the sidewalk of apartments and even city sidewalks, you can call the city and they can be charged with endangerment.

Maybe it's worth giving the city a call and see if it applies?

Because leaving ice on the apartment sidewalk and just saying "Oh I didnt get around to it" is just stupid.

The apartment community is responsible for snow removal as well as making sure entrances are free of ice and snow. they do this through own equipment and private companies. Unfortunately I think the city is responsible for sanding in this community but it's blantantly obvious they skipped two hills that lead to parking spots. The road is only passable one car at a time and there are no sidewalks anywhere, I have to walk down the side of a road to get to my dumpster.

There is one poster on VJ that just gets my blood to boil. His self-righteousness is obviously compensating for either a very dissatisfied marriage or low self-esteem (perhaps both). If you need to boast all the time about how great your life is and degrade others at the exact same time, methinks your life isn't as grande as you pretend.

I wonder if it's the same one I complain about

And me. There's 1 person I'm thinking of that drives me absolutely insane...

So my vent today..

Yesterday we saw a townhouse we both loved! It was huge, 2 years old, had lots of space and a defined area that would be great for my Canadian family coming to visit. The kitchen was a little small, it had no yard and the landscaping was lacking, and there was no view at all, but those are things I was willing to overlook. We seriously thought about putting an offer in, but we decided that we needed to think about it for a couple days and get some more information about the property and the HOA from our Realtor. Since we only looked at a few places and this is our first experience in the market, we also wanted to see some more comparable properties. So, we come online today and do a little searching in this home database we were told about and the townhouse is now under contract. Someone put an offer on it literally hours after we saw it. I guess it was to good to be true... :( They're entertaining other offers but I'm not really wanting to get into a bidding war, I think we just need to move on.
