Necrotica-Oh yeah, the ROC stuff can really get to you (it certainly did for me..lol..see my vj timeline for more info..)

On the bright side, at least you are filing at the CSC...You'll be done in 4 months or less there...lol..the VSC..that's another story...

Make sure you have all the joint evidence, fill out the forms, and fork over $545 for a 10yr new card..and you're good to go there...

Oh and make sure you do not lose the expired green card and the NOA 1yr extension letter that comes with the ROC filing!

You don't want a repeat of losing your green card again (sorry to hear about that from your timeline)...

Btw...If you ever file for citizenship....you have to give up both the 2yr cards and 10yr cards...So enjoy them while you still can..lol....

Hope this helps too. Good luck with the filing of the ROC..:) Don't worry, it will all be over before you know it.

Ant

I still need to send my husband's removal of conditions petition to the California Service Center.

His green card expires on 2/8/10. That's only one month from tomorrow.

I am so, so mentally exhausted. Not coping well.

You know, I have spoken before about the woman that is the manager in this Apt. complex and her atrocious lack of a business manner in email (on the phone she is quite friendly).

So we are moving out at the end of this month and they sent me a letter to call them to arrange a walk through etc etc. Now when you move in here you sign an agreement to have the carpets cleaned when you move out. They will either do this or you can hire a professional and give them the receipt.

So I email her and say I got your note, will let you know when we are moving out, arrange time etc etc and ask - what does the person(s) that you have available charge to clean the carpets.

This is her reply:

89.25

No signature - nothing lol

Although - she did put the amount in colour and she didn't add "and don't let the door hit you in the #### on the way out"

which is nice. :)

I'd do it to see her reaction, then give her real money if she pulls a fit

I can remember one of my father's friends who worked in the bill processing department for a phone company telling me some of the horrors of what people would do to their cheque and or bill. Most of the stuff people used to do is actually a felony now. The most vivid stories were of people who would use their bill and or cheque as toilet paper, then stuff it in the envelope and mail it, or people filling the envelope with dead roaches. :cringe:

Driving to Bethesda today to see a CS who will transcribe my vaccines. The driving part isnt really horrible... its just that I hate driving the freeway (I havent driven in 2 years) and it is snowy. Most annoying part is I finally got in touch with a customer rep from USCIS yesterday who told me that I shouldnt have received an RFE because I had my vaccines transcribed by Dr. Arnold. He said that I dont even need a new medical/transcription, I can just re-explain my case... but really, do I really want to piss USCIS at this point? *sigh*

Yep a very nice dusting of snow in the DC region! light and fluffy!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Hmm, we see Christian ads like that all the time here in the South. Some of the names of services are along the lines of 'Christian Styles' (hair stylist) or 'Following our Saviour Cleaners' . Our next door neighbours who are fairly fundamentalist won't use a service of any type - garage, hair dresser, school, repair person, cleaner, whatever - unless they are advertised as 'Christian'.

We don't see the Caucasian or Black advertisements though - people know those are racist. They are just described somewhat differently to appeal to whichever race they want to focus on.

Sounds like you may have some American influence creeping into the area.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
