We recently switched to DSL with AT&T and the connection is so bad now that I can't even upload a picture onto this sight anymore. I've been wanting to post a picture of our new cat in the kitten thread, but AT&T apparently doesn't approve of that goal. :ranting:

I am venting over my pinched nerve. It started on Christmas Eve-ish and is still going on. I cant even use a pillow to sleep anymore or else my entire left arm will start to feel all pins and needles. Ive been good at not stressing my left side too much, but I dont want to be an invalid or sit all day long :(

It looks like I REALLY need to see a doctor :(

Finally married... and still married... ;)

From Ontario to California, about 5 days, I dont mind the snow for driving, but I am slightly worried about the snow Chicago is suppose to get tomorrow and if its going to affect Wes's flight. I don't really hate packing either its just been a lot of stuff to sort through, a lot of purging and every time im like, oh yeah ill be fine, it suddenly dawns on me that theres still something else I have to do.

Oh wow, Danu. Three more sleeps!!! You and he must be getting excited!

Autumnchik ,

Look up frozen shoulder on line and read up about that.

OMG. I had that a few years ago. It's excruciating. If it is frozen shoulder, Autumn, get to the Dr right away and get a cortisone shot! I wish I'd done it sooner than I did. The longer you leave it the more damage you'll have. I've lost a lot of range in that arm. :(

but he could leave a msg and one would call me back in a day or two.

I said no, that's ok, thanks. They can't even find their own clients

See a chiropractor! They work wonders for me in the same situation. It's pinching at your spine.

For me it's a matter of realigning the spine to release the nerve.

Yeah -- every morning since then I try to stretch my spine/neck area, but its not working anymore.

Krikit -- does one need a referral to see a chiropractor? And I think I will take your advice. So far, Ive found chiropractors and physiatrists in the area.

I am super excited and really nervous today. Couldnt sleep very well. He flies in today but he has a stop in chicago and I'm so terrified that it will get cancelled and he will get stranded that I couldnt sleep at all. This is going to be a wierd day to get through.

This is probably what I had for several months, when we were in Florida. It started when we were living in the Apartment there and had our computers on the dining room table (there was no other place to put them).

Anyway, I couldn't even really lift my right arm, it was that stiff/sore. So for months I was just very very careful with it.

FFwd to moving back to Canada, i'm still at the same computer desk I was at in Florida, after we moved from the apt. but the arm, she is almost all better. So for those of you with a sore shoulder, neck, arm, I would really recommend that you check out your computer desk set up, it really does make a difference.

Krikit -- does one need a referral to see a chiropractor?

No. Most people/companies treat them as "not quite doctors", and I've not heard of any needing referrals.

The only thing you'll want to look at is, the possibility that your health insurance covers part/all of it.

I know one of my insurances only paid 20$ towards each visit, but my current one would cover it after deductible.

Montreal Interviewer: "What do you have in common with each other?"

Peachey: "We're REALLY weird."

Montreal Interviewer (incredulously to me): "Do you agree with that?"

<I think back to several days before the interview. Driving through the country, passing a field with cows...>

Peachey: "MOOOO! MOOOOO! Does this make me weird?"

Me: "No, well yes. Here, let me roll down the windows so they can hear you better!"

Peachey: "MOOOOO!!!!"

<back to interview>

Me: "Yes, yes I do."

Like Varba says, you don't need a referral. Just give them a call. I've been to two chiropractors here in the US. One of them was ####### but the other one is fabulous. He also puts you on an electric stimulus machine. OMG. It's like having a back massage! I hate when it shuts off. LOL. In a pinch (lol) I've also had success with proper Chinese acupuncture. You need a real Chinese doctor, though. The American one I went to was #######. Just to let you know that there are good and bad. If you find you're not getting results within the first one or two visits, ditch them and find another.

Ohmygosh, how exciting! Let us know if he makes it.

Definitely. Ergonomics is a lifesaver.
