Yes, sir. I got that once I had 4 years at this company. When I was a new hire I had just under 3 weeks.

Well you are the exception, considering the US is the only industrialized country to not have a mandated minimum vacation time.

Four weeks after the first year is the norm elsewhere.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

I'm going to struggle with the insane work ethic they have of 40+ hrs/ week on average and no paid leave except getting to executive levels and even then that's stingy! I don't know how more of the population isn't completely burnt out, to be honest.

I'm used to 40+, I don't think it's insane at all.

And I'm no executive (never have been) and have always had paid leave.

How is that a good thing?

Do you get at least 4 weeks paid leave? No to mention, 10 days paid public holidays.

I do get 18 days paid vacation and plus 12 days sick leave too (and 10 paid public holidays) - will get more after 3 years (in next July) to about 23 days paid vacation 15 days sick leave.. and I'm a lowly admin

How long have you been working for them? That is definitely not the norm.

WoW I wish I got that amount of paid time off. I have to wait another years to get an increase up to 15 days PTO after 6 years. No sick pay ever.

No sick leave is pretty common in retail. In the absence of governnment mandates, it all comes down to labor supply/demand.

BINGO!

It's great to see all of those countries mandating their workers receive 50 days vacation during cancer treatment.

No Not joking... 0 days from start of employment to end of 3rd year. Year 4 til end of year 5 10 days.. year 6 to 15, 15 days year 16 and on 20 days.

Sick days have to be taken from Paid time off or they are unpaid. No days can be carried over, use it or lose it.

And to answer to OP

No, my parents never want to live in the US and my sister doesnt care much about the US since she's a deplomatic officer and would be posting in different coutries every few years and actually - she doesnt like 'anything american' as per in the TV or movie.. she said it's really annoying how the teenager talks here lol. But when she was here for a visit in NC, she likes it fine.

I prefer to live in China with my wife.

I've gone there for 2 months at a time, worked remote (on us wages ) but enjoyed the 'local' cost of living...

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

That is an exception. My workplaces refuses to even give me unpaid leave.
