Under State Department guidelines, K visas are processed by Immigrant Visa Units at consulates abroad, even though they are technically nonimmigrant visas. So, in most cases, you will report to the Immigrant Visa Unit at the embassy/consulate.

Hopefully someone with experience at Lagos can confirm this is in fact the case there.

(moving to Embassy and Consulate Discussion)

Improved USCIS Form G-325A (Biographic Information)

Form field input font changed to allow entry of dates in the specified format and to provide more space for addresses and employment history. This is the 6/12/09 version of the form; the current version is 8/8/11, but previous versions are accepted per the USCIS forms page.

Hi There will be tons of people there. They settle across the street because they are redoing the old visa area. At 7 they will start lining people up. There will be an embassy employee there that will form lines. I think they are still working DV visas . There is a shelter across the street with rows of seats. He will be allowed in that area where he pays his fees and they verify that he is on that days list and take his forms. Then he will take a seat there. They then come from the consulate and walk groups of about 12 across the street to the interview area. Make sure he leaves his cell at home or with someone. There is no place to store phones. It can take most of the day to get inside for your interview. If he passes they give him papers about where to pick up his passport and visa about a week later ( assuming no AP and the medical is done )

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

HI-- thanks for the advice. I don't know what he should do with him cell phone.

I guess he could leave it in the hotel room and and call me when he returns all the back to hotel. I was hoping there was a place he could put it when he gets there. I will tell him that. (his is a camera phone)

I will tell him that he is probably going to get in immigrant line.

Thanks everyone for all your help!!!!

If all goes well, he will be home in Cali with us Dec. 1st
