OK so i sent 'packet 3' back a couple of weeks ago. I called the embassy today to make sure they had received it and that all the documents they needed were there. I was told that they received and processed my application on Nov 4th, but it would be 6-8 weeks before i would receive an appointment date.

Now, looking at timelines similar to mine, it seemed to me that several people received a 'packet 4' (which i assume to be the interview appointment letter) a couple of weeks after mailing off 'packet 3'.

Please can someone clarify, have i been misinformed by the embassy or am i reading the timelines incorrectly?

thanks for your help.

oh and its London embassy

thanks

The embassy tells you that to cover their you know what. Most people get an interview within a couple of weeks of sending P3 at London.

Keep calling DOS to ask if they have your interview date; you'll receive it in packet 4, but you'll know sooner what it is through DOS

Naturalization

Haha. On the UK forum, it's unaffectionately known as the "extortion" line. And they're not very nice either, for the amount you're paying, lol! Come join us on the UK forum for more people going through London :)

DOS (dept of state) is FREE and can give you the same information, so it is highly superior. It's a US call so you might want the US petitioner call it, but here it is:

202-663-1225 press 1, then 0 to speak to a live agent. You may have to call a few times in order to get through because it's a busy line. Open from 0830 to 1600, M-F, eastern standard time. Have your LND case number ready along with the foreigner's birth date. You can ask them if London has gotten P3, processed it, or have an interview date set.

I called them every day waiting for NVC to get the case, lol. Now I'm just waiting for my fiance to send them P3. Good luck!

I feel your pain!! It's been 5 weeks since the Embassy received our Packet 3 in France. I saw mannnnnnny timelines for France taking 2-4 weeks to receive packet 4.......it's been flippin 5 weeks now.....I call the DOS every day.......they say, "pending" Our DS-230 part 1 has been processed October 27th.....and no interview date as of yet......Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh this is soooooooo frustrating! I know you are from the UK.....and me from France!

I sent my checklist off yesterday (forms already submitted back in September) so I'm curious to find out how long I can expect to wait. Already, the anticipation and nerves are driving me crazy! I hope you hear something from them soon.

The embassy's answer is designed to prevent you from calling them again. If they tell you 6-8 weeks and it is really 2-3 weeks, you will never call them and bother them again and you will never complain. That is the fact.
