Hi, everyone! I would like to know which is the best prepaid line to use in the USA? Globe, Smart or Sun? Currently, I'm using a Globe prepaid line, but I'm wondering if it's the best for roaming? And how will I reload abroad? Thanks in advance! :)

any of the three will do, all have good connections...it's actually the phil side that you should consider: which part are you gonna call ? are you ok w/the rates? features?

reloading: google the website for each to see how and for how much.

god bless!

Any will be fine. I had a dual-SIM phone(got it @ Green Hills  ), and I had both Smart and Globe #s. Just make sure you activate Roaming before leaving Pinas. Go to each website to see how long they last before you have to extend the roaming services, usually 180/days.

If you want to reload your phone online, go to https://www.aryty.com/DefaultWB.aspx and create an account and you can load all 3 carriers from online. It's good if you have families back in Pinas that you want to load their phones as well...

Hope that helps!!

I got a Smart Buddy sim when I was there for my second phone. There is no charge for incoming text on a smart card even if there is no load left. You need to load at least P100 before it will allow you to roam it. Just before you leave the Phils, follow the instructions in the booklet and activate international roaming. I use it to receive texts from my wife, then return the text on my AT&T phone for .10 cents each. She can text me just like any of her other friends or family (I think it's like P1 each). It's worked great so far :)

Maybe I misunderstood? You want a sim for use in the US? If so, then yes a prepaid like Richard suggested is what you want. Not an internationally roaming number!! that would cost a fortune. There are several places to load a filipino sim card on the web. I use Pinoy Load to load my wifes phone.

I reload with a seller on Ebay much cheaper than a lot of other Load Stations. Compare below

hi,

i have globe roaming sim which i use here in usa for my family to text me for only one peso per text...i never have to buy load every month or never really need to buy load for it.

here is what you need to do:

if you have a family who have a globe number make that number your partner sim...then he/she need to call the operator and have your globe sim activate for roaming...you need to have 100 pesos load for your number to be activated. then enrol for zero maintaining balance which means that even if your globe roaming sim doesnt have load you will still have your signal and your roaming wont be deactivated as long as your partner sim will always buy load for his/her number every month...so even if your globe roaming sim doesnt have load for 6 months it still wont get deactivated.

and for me to be able to text back to my family i have an international texting to my US phone too...

Just sign up with Boost or MetroPCS in USA for a month.

You get a free cellphone with unlimited talk / text for only around $40 per month

my wife has smart she uses chikka on the computer to text them and they text her cell in reply

chikka has limit on sending message to a mobile number unless the mobile number will reply to chikka which cost 2.50 pesos per text.

you just need to tell the operator about it. i dont use text in activating roaming or anything coz i want to make sure it is being process...i like scolding operator when they are not doing their job very well. hehehehehe.
