Hi guys,

I'm a USC, husband is a UKC. I've recently filed my I-130 through DCF. According to the processing times on the embassy in London's website my application should have been processed already. I just found out that my dad had a heart attack and want to go back to the states as soon as possible. However I've been told not to do so until the I-130 is approved. Is this true? Due to the english postal strikes (i think) I haven't been recieving any mail for a while now so if they sent me a post card or anything (noa 1 I believe) I don't have a clue when or if I'll get that. Is there a number I can call to ask what's going on with my application?

I appreciate any help or advice you guys can give me.

You can leave as soon as the I-130 is filed, but many prefer to wait till it bis approved, just in case there is an issue. Can you ring the embassy and check?

Each consulate has a different system for the I-130 status check. It is better to contact the embassy and ask for your status.

Thanks for your advice. Looking at your timeline, the processing time in Japan seems to be lightening fast.
