Case of the Missing Visa File

Hey everyone,

Okay so I am really concerned considering my husband has his interview next Monday in Cairo. Hoping someone can shed some light on this for me. So, here's the situation....I called the DOS they informed me that they don't see our case as being logged into their system yet. The visa specialist from the DOS even said "wow, this is a little concerning." At that point I though, that's strang but I did as she suggested, which was email AND call the embassy to see if they have it. Which I did....well guess what? Cairo tells me, "we don't have it yet." Huh!?!

Alright, starting to worry now, but still not crazy yet....so I call the NVC and they insist that they send the package on the 16th of October, which is the date they told everyone from Cairo who got scheduled that week. Although after tracking via DHL, there was only one case sent that day to Cairo and numerous other sent that week and the rest of the month in general. Honestly, I don't know if any of those cases were mine or not.

So now I am totally freaked out! They will do the interview without the case being there yet, but they won't issue the visa until they receive the case. If NVC says they send it and DOS and Embassy say they don't see it/have it? Where in the world is it?

Please let me know your experience or thoughts on this. It would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

What is the deal with this, didnt this just happen to Nancy? There mail system sucks there I stopped sending anything there, I know DHL is different but they need to get the lead out and get to moving. This validates why Im taking all my doc copys to Ahmed this last visit, so he will have it if its not there.Seems like egypt is like the outcast of loosing stuff. It will work out Sharifah, I wish I knew what to say to you to help. I will stay up all night with you for your wait time as he is doing his interview we need a party for you.

Yeah I really just dont get it. I honestly think our files are there and they just have not opened them yet and logged them into the computer. Well the only thing I can say is that I heard that Thursday is the big update day for DOS so try to call them then and isa maybe they will have your case and maybe mine by then.

Either way Ahmed will have his interview since he has an exact copy of everything from USCIS to NVC, but that sucks that we have to wait to find out what will happen until they "find" the cases. I mean they can't even say congrats you are approved, until the case is received. I am so frustrated! And yes Sandra, this happen to Nancy and W&S as well. Cases are just missing in action.

As for a party, I really don't want one. No offense to anyone, but once I get Ahmed off to the interview, I just want to take some sleeping pills and not wake up until I hear something from him.

So NVC says that they sent the file to the Embassy on Oct 16th and as of today the Embassy has not receive it yet according to what DOS told me. I tried emailing the embassy and as usual they replied with an answer that made no sense whatsoever. Anybody have experience with this situation or ideas of what I can do?? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
