Hello, I have a question for all of your seasoned VJers here: is there any difference, if any, in terms of processing time, between a petition filed by citizen by birth and a petition filed by a citizen by naturalization? I mean, is there additional steps for citizens by naturalization?

Beside the processing time, what else, if any, is different down the road?

Thank you very much for your insights and best wishes for all of us!

No difference except a naturalized US citizen would have to list their natz certificate number on the I 129f, and generally they submit a copy of it as proof of their US citizenship as well. But you could submit a copy of your US passport as proof of citizenship as well - though you'd still want to list your nats cert number on the I 129f.

Beyond that - a citizen is a citizen in their eyes.

No - none. No difference based on how citizenship was acquired.

Nothing comes to mind.

Thank you for both of your quick responds, that eased me a bit. I read somewhere on this board (forgot which post) that a naturalized citizen's petition take more time because USCIS needs to pull the paperwork of the naturalization process from somewhere before continuing the petition.

Thanks again!

No difference. You are a citizen, same as any other citizen. 33 days is not a long time, you have plenty more wait to come. Be patient, once she arrives you forget all about that.
