Turned in packet 3 in person....but did not get interview date

Morning everyone on VJ

MY fiance mani and i mailed in our packet 3 visa certified mail on 20th October and every week since that day we mailed the embassy asking if they had received it but we received no response till 6 November. at the same time on our end with tracking that package it says it was delivered so we assumed they just never emailed us back...On November 9 Monday mani and i took a 6 hour drive to the embassy to turn in our packet our selves and to hofully get our interview date..the embassy did not let mani my fiance in at all so i went in and did all the work but they still did not give us our interview date they said it will come by mail..when we returned home. i called the DOS to see if it was scheduled yet and it still wasn't i will give them a call back with in a few days. just wanted to update you this is through the Delhi Embassy.

I am so sorry to hear about this experience. My fiance was given trouble as well, when he took his packet 3 in person to the Mumbai Embassy they told him they will mail it to him and said he should get his interview date in 3 months. My fiance got a bit upset and then the lady told him to verify his number and called him back and gave him packet 4. I guess we got lucky. But, in your case you were there as well so this was a added bonus. I guess Delhi is tougher in everyway. Just keep on DOS as they will have your interview date soon. I am sure of it. But, on the positive side once he gets his interview I know it will be approved because you are by Mani's side every step of the way. This was just one obstacle that did not come through, but everything else will. I am sure of it

Now i am just wondering also if Delhi will even let me into the embassy for the interivew with mani..do you think they will? Another positive thing Mani and i agreed upon is that now we know where the embassy is and now we know how to talk/ handle the workers at the embassy. Next time will be very positive mani and i pray for that. I am emailing the DOS right now and explaining them the whole situation, i will also be calling them soon again. i also emailed the embassy last night

Another question is the ppl who i spoke with at the counter are those the CO officers or are those just other workers at the embassy? for the interview then they call you back into a specific room which they have for interviews right?

best of luck on getting everything prepared for interview, when is the medical date?

I don't think they will let you in from what I have been reading. You can give Mani your US passport so he can take this to the interview and show the officer. This will assure the CO that you are there.

I am not familiar with the embassy staff, but I think most likely those are just embassy workers and not the officers interviewing you.

My fiance is planning to take the medical next week, and he managed to find a medical center that will give him the results the same day. He is getting his PCC this week from the passport office. We applied for it as soon as we got our approval letter.

I am sure if you give Mani your passport to take with him to the interview this will be enough evidence to not have any problems. You will be fine I am sure of it .

I'm sorry that they behaved that way but Delhi embassy especially is known to be super rude..so hang in here you are almost done! You should go to interview with Mani and I'm sure they will let you in...they might not let you be at the interview but they will know you are there with him and that is the stongest evidance that both of you are together I will pray for you and hope that you get you interview day ASAP!

when Mani goes for his medical make sure they fill out every single form that needs to be filled. b/c of physician's mistake our visa was delayed week and half. sorry I can't tell you what form he didn't fill out b/c Karan got sealed envelope from embassy to take it back to physician and then in return he gave another 'sealed' envelope back to send it back..which I think is stupid that you don't know what's going on and it's about you? anyways don't stress too much..you guys will get the visa in no time!!!

I don't think they will let you in from what I have been reading. You can give Mani your US passport so he can take this to the interview and show the officer. This will assure the CO that you are there.

I would be glad if those are just embassy workers..the " O" line i was suppose to be in there was a lady sitting who looked very nice and all of a sudden a security pulled me and said use the "J" line that line was with the guy.

ALL the truly very best with medical! all will be great and that u also get results in the same day.

we are also getting our distict and local pccs back this week from the police offices.

i am also going with mani to his medical and we wll be making sure that dr fills out everything.

i really am hoping for our interview appointment very soon! on january 9th our petitions expires.

Tasha, they 'will' let you in, but being allowed to sit there right beside Mani as he's being interviewd is another story. One person that went to the interview at Delhi with her SO told me that she was interviewed as well and separately too! Right after her SO was.

Then there's also Lauren (catknit) just recently who was let in without any problem.

And yes, you 'are' a USC and it would not be ethical or wise as far as I'm concerned for a US Embassy to not allow one of their own in the doors. So no, you won't be sitting outside on the curb but you should still give the PP to Mani to show to the CO, unless of course you have the gutso to walk straight up to the counter with him. If you 'do' that, they will probably just ask you to go sit back down.

Oh, The applicants don't go into a separate room. There are a row of windows that the CO's stand behind...sort of like a drive up window at a bank. This is protection I suppose from crazy angry fiancee's who's sweeties don't get approved.

Also, I've been in there myself to get my no objection letter from a CO, then afterwards I described the area I had to go to and Hemant said it sounded just like the same area he was interviewd, windows and all.

I don't think you're going to have to wait an entire month to get your date. Most likely you'll get it in two weeks at the most.

well this time i will be having all the GUTS mani also we are standing up for everything. we were discussing this the other day after we talked. at least i wont be sitting outside and waiting like mani had to do.

i will be standing up at that counter with him.

i thought the applicants go into a different room like an interview room, so then its basicallly you stay in the whole main room where i sat and waited the whole time.

i also called and emailed the DOS again yestersday still no interview date, so i will call again after the holiday well a few days after that. I reallllllllllllly want the interview date, hope it only takes a few weeks to come.

mani also toled me when we were at the embassy he had noticed that soo many other people were wearing blue, like you and i discussed that one time on the phone karen. he was very observent of everything when we were at the embasy.
