I will be bringing to the interview copies of about 4 recent paychecks along with an employment verification letter. My employer is a small company and his checks do not have an attachment listing any year-to-date info. I will just make copies of the checks before I deposit them. Does anyone think this will be a problem. All input greatly appreciated.

No I don't think that will be a problem. Do you have copies of your W2's as well? As long as you have paystubs to show that you are making sufficient income this should be ok. At the same time you have your employment letter to back up your annual salary. This is nothing to worry about.

Saw somewhere that a CO asked for a year's worth of bank statements to show regular payroll deposits. I do not recall the context but maybe such would show YTD earning, albeit many other things, if the question arised... Good luck.

I gave Shirr about 2 months worth of pay stubs. I would guess that copies of your pay checks would be ok. I think the purpose of all this is to show a steady, current income.

As far as I know, the CO did not even look at them...

Unfortunately, I am a 1099 employee so there is no pay stub, just the check. I just hope that making a copy of check before cashing will surfice.

Now that I think about it.... the pre-screener would not accept our I-134... I sent IRS transcripts and the pre-screen insisted that W2 were required and because Shirr could not provide them, the form was given back to her with instructions to show it to the Counsel if asked... she was never asked...

We still have the I-134 with its offical stamp and everything. Someday I expect we will need it so we will hand on to it.

You could always ask your employer for a Statement of payment made during this year.

I'd bet an itemized listing on company letterhead would provide YTD income.

Of course I would also include the copies of a couple of months worth of checks and some bank statements also.

There is no such thing as too much evidence.

Phil, Thank you very much for your reply, it sounds like you were not at interview with shirr plus they still approved without even looking at the I-134. Maybe I'm making too much of this. It states on the USCIS instructions for the I-134 that copies of paychecks are not required just letter of employment and it sounds like nobody ever gets asked for them. I plan on being at the interview in hope that it adds credibility. I'm just trying to prevent going that far and having a problem.

Thanks again!
