Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

I believe that UK tv commercials have always been viewed as an art form - winning awards is in the minds of the creators more than selling the product. I don't know how that translates in terms of selling the goods they are meant to be advertising though. However, I expect it's a product of the way tv developed in the UK.

I don't know how that translates in terms of selling the goods they are meant to be advertising though. However, I expect it's a product of the way tv developed in the UK.

Well, I remember the product being advertised - and with positive impressions - after seeing UK commercials (such as Al & Monkey - PG Tips/ONdigital), while US commercials tend to make me NOT want to buy the product. The products that have the jingles that get stuck in your head - not because they're amusing, but because they're annoying - are the products I actively avoid.

The products that have the jingles that get stuck in your head - not because they're amusing, but because they're annoying - are the products I actively avoid.

Probably also because they insist on playing the commercials so much louder than the normal TV, just so you have the convenience of hearing the advertiser messages when you've stepped out to make a coffee or have a slash.
