I know Lagos can be especially difficult at the lengths they go to in trying to deny the visas. I actually think some of the ones there think their character is to do just that. Lets post some of those difficult questions so we can help others.

Up front we are a middle aged couple , I am older and white.

These may not be in the order asked but

How did we meet

How many times had I visited

How many times have I been married

Why was I divorced

How many children , their names , birth order , how many live with me and what do they do ( my kids are adults)

How many grand kids

How many siblings , and what are their names and locations.

What degrees do I have , what where the school and when did I get them.

Where do I live , what style of house and how many rooms

Do I rent or own

Where do I work and what do I do there

What are my parents names and what do they do ( he replied that they were both dead when we met and that dead people do nothing )

How did we communicate and what was the average length of our calls.

Why we didn't marry in Nigeria.

where are we planning to marry in the US

What year did I move out of NY state

In the interview it came up that his father had died since my initial visit and she asked him if his father died when he found out he was planning on marrying a white woman.

I think that is most of the questions .

Any others that someone can add. Maybe not ones you were asked but overheard while inside the interview area ?

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Thanks for the new topic! The questions are very helpful. My goodness, I didn't know they could be so outlandish!

Congratulations on getting the visa today and completing your journey!:dance::dance:

I wonder why they took so long after the approval to generate the visa.

It was his fault a bit. His medical got off to a slow start because he is extremely computer illiterate. To him sending an email means hand writing a letter and paying someone to scan it and send me the file. His medical was completed after the interview so he had a second date a week after the interview to deliver the medial and drop off his passport.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Here are some of the questions they asked my husband.

1. How much does it cost per min to call your wife?

2. What does your wife do for a living? They want the title. Then the officer asked him to explain my daily duties @ work.

3. What does your wife do after work?

4. how far away is your wife's place of work, from her house?

5. Many siblings does your wife have?

6. Which 1 of the siblings are you closer to? and why?

7. The university your wife graduated from, and its location.

8. Our proof of communication.

9. Our proof of relationship (pictures)

My husband is 5yrs older than me, and we are both in our twenties. The officer never asked about our age difference.

Thanks for posting! I'm really anxious about the interview. So much prep work can be undone in a matter of minutes based on one person's mood. It just doesn't sit right with me.

I see a common thread in the questioning. The question about college is a little tricky as we don't often discuss that. I wonder where they get that information. I don't remember ever putting that on any submitted forms

This question is just mean-spirited and was probably meant to shake the applicant:

...his father had died since my initial visit and she asked him if his father died when he found out he was planning on marrying a white woman.

That is in such poor taste!
