First off thanks for everyone's prayers and for those of you who partied with me at the slumber party yesterday. I really dont have much information to share, but I will share what I know so far. They let him in and made copies of his papers and then the secretary/receptionist told him that his papers had not arrived from NVC yet. I dont know how that is possible if NVC says it was sent on the 16th of Oct. Go figure!!! Well he told them that he had copies of everything and wanted to proceed with the interview anyway. They said okay and he did his interview and gave the CO copies of almost everything he had with him. Then they said that everything was fine, but everything is pending the arrival of the paperwork from NVC. The only positive thing is that they took his passport and he paid the DHL fees. Does anyone have any idea how much longer it could be until they receive the papers? Also is there some way for me to track the package since I guess the one I had originally thought to be ours wasnt?

papers didnt arrive yet to embassy looks so common this days .i got same position here ... but they didnt kept my passport ... after 10 days they called me to send it . ... after couple of weeks they send it stamped .. so i think urs will take couple of weeks . good luck there .

Inshallah you are right about two weeks. Them keeping the passport is a good sign right? I used to always think that if they kept your passport then you would have your visa soon, but from many cases I have seen on here it doesnt really mean much these days for them to keep the passport.

well they said everything looked good and it was pending the documents from nvc ....to me this sounds like approval as long as there isnt any surprises in documents from there but there shouldnt be because he has copies of everything u sent to them....

i dont know why the embassy has not received ur file yet from nvc.....we had the same problem with perviz file turned out it was there but they had not logged it into the system yet.....

I am hoping that it is there and they just havent opened it or logged it in. I just dont like to get my hopes up with the Cairo embassy because they are full of surprises.

Nancy did he have just photo copies of everything that was sent in to the NVC or did he have extra original copies of the papers?

Also all he had to pay for was the dhl fee? I am trying to get my husband geared up for hopefully his interview!!!

He had a few originals, but the rest were copies along with all the proof he took with him of our relationship. The only thing he had to pay was 67 pounds for the DHL fee. Best of luck to your husband on his interview!!!

CONGRATULATIONS, Nancy!

They would not have kept his passport nor made him pay the fee if he was not to get the visa. So let us say delayed but not denied. Call DOS tomorrow.

Remember.... we prayed.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

i cant speak for egypt but years ago my husband was put into ap because something didnt come from the US and he had to wait for it to come. it only took a week. sometimes AP is nothing more then just waiting for things to come before they issue the visa. its not a bad thing.
