Hey everyone,

So we had our interview on November 2nd and USCIS made a mistake and didn't have some of our paperwork with them so they couldn't give us an approval right away until they recovered our papers.

Anyways, on the 4th of November we got an email and a status update saying "On Nov. 4th, 2009 we ordered production of your new card." Then in an email it said "Case status- Card production ordered" then under it said the same thing the site said which was that they ordered production of the new card. To see a copy of the email and my original post regarding this msg. and situation you can see it here.

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=227088

Anyways, we hadn't received any updates, etc. since then but then today I got a text message from USCIS saying they updated the case. I went to the uscis.gov website and they didn't change the status or change anything at all. The ONLY thing they changed was that as opposed to saying "On November 4th, 2009 we ordered production of your new card it now says "On November 9th. 2009 we ordered production of your new card".

Makes no sense at all.

Anyone have any clue as to why it would update to the same thing but just change the date?

Thanks guys

I wouldn't worry about it. Just before my wife got her GC, we received all sorts of confusing messages from the new online system. A few times we received duplicate status updates with different dates. They still have some bugs to work out of the new system.

K1: 01/15/2009 (mailed I-129F) - 06/23/2009 (visa received)

AOS: 08/08/2009 (mailed I-485, I-765, & I-131) - 10/29/2009 (received GC)

Okay thanks for the posting of your experience. My wife and I were really confused and sort of worried because up until now we had been not 100% sure, but had a good feeling that it was an approval and that they had found our papers that they had misplaced, then we get a duplicate update with the same thing but the date just changed.

Thanks :)

We had a similar experience recently and the GC arrived in a matter of days after the second message. I believe this is a very good sign for your wife and yourself. Congratulations.

I think everybody (or almost everybody) has gotten 2 "card production ordered" emails. The first one is when they order it, the second is when it comes back made.

Now, you will get "approval notice sent" email- this is when they actually mail out your GC to you.

Thanks for the responses guys! Makes us feel a lot better! Is it weird that we haven't even been notified if we've been approved for the green card or not? We had our interview on the 2nd of November and we've gotten emails saying the card production has been ordered but no notification as to whether or not my wife has been approved or not.

We are hoping hoping that she's approved for the green card and we're hoping that these status updates saying the card has been ordered means an approval.

Eric-Pris, is this "approval notice sent" email the same thing as being notified that you've been approved for the green card, or is there a separate email telling you that you've been approved and THEN they tell you that they sent the approval notice later?

Thanks so much guys! :)

Just wanted to let everyone know that on November 13th we received an email saying there has been a change in our online status. We went to check it and it said...

"we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I-485 petition, and bla bla".

Then a day later my wife received her green card!

Thanks to everyone who has helped us through this!

Much appreciated, and good luck to all! :)
