Is it a good thing to contact my senator regarding my K1 Visa interview/packet 4???

I was advised by my lawyer to call my senators office regarding my case....just wondering if I do if it would delay further or help things move. We should not have to wait 5 weeks for the arrival of packet 4. We sent our petition April 3rd, 2008 and we just want to be together finally, and this waiting time is just ridiculous already!!!! It's been almost 8 months........my God......2 people that just want to be together....are made to suffer so long.....Just NOT FAIR!

I know I'm not the only one........in this situation......that's why I'm here on VJ!!! I just wish that I knew about this website a lot earlier than I did, because there has been soooooooooo many helpful people here!!!!

If you are outside of normal processing times contacting your senator might help, but by law senators cannot influence visa processing. I know from experience the wait is painful, but nothing about the process is quick or easy. However if you are outside of the stated processing times contact the appropriate agency (e.g. USCIS) first to see what the problem is & if you aren't satisfied with their answer then try your senator. You can. But, unless you are out of processing times, they will tell you to wait. And, even if you are outside of said times; only thing they can do is ask what's going on.

call DoS and inquire about the status of the case and if pkt 4 has been sent... 202-663-1225 when the recording starts press 1, then 5 then 0...

haaaa haaa!!! I've done that many times.....had 4 different answers!!!

1-processed

2-DS-230 is processed with no interview date scheduled Embassy is waiting for Part 2 of the DS-230!! (What......they didn't request that in packet 3!!!)

3-DS-230 is processed and still pending

4-pending

ok......my question is.....why is it "pending" They just haven't gotton around in scheduling an interview date for us, or do they need additional information. I've emailed and faxed them last week asking them if they indeed needed part 2 of the DS-230 and we've heard no response!!!

So....it's been 5 weeks......should not take this long to schedule an interview date and mail out packet 4~~~ JMO

Call DOS and ask them. I emailed the embassy at 2am here which was around 8am in paris, and then Called DOS today around 11am and they told me that our P4 was mailled out today, and that our interview is 12/9 at 1pm. maybe you should try that too. email then call DOS.

Please email me......let me know what you wrote in your email.......so scared of writing the wrong thing to them!!!!!!!! Don't want it pushed further......I'm happy for you.....CONGRATS!!! But.......also freaking out, cuz we sent our Packet 3 before you........October 7th......
