It looks like you're good to go! :)

...and with plenty of time! :)

Dont forget to include the $10 handling fee.

total is $30 for first time. I sent mine about 2 months ago. 2 weeks after I received 2 letters stating I had forgotten to include the $10 handling fee, so I sent them a money order, and had the passport back in a couple of days.

So I finally submitted my application & passport for the 5-year visa exemption, but it looks like it's gonna be another month before I hear anything back. Apparently, my application has to get approved by officials in Hanoi...

I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that I'm American-born Vietnamese. :P I was surprised that the gentleman called me TWICE! First time was to inform me that I needed additional support documentation (I had sent a copy of our marriage license, not original). So I sent that in along with my husband's CMND, and a pre-paid fed-ex envelope because the one I included was just regular USPS. The second time, he kept asking me if I could send documents about my parents being born in Vietnam. Of course, they immigrated during the war and all the records are/were lost/destroyed so...no, I couldn't provide anything--except their US passports, but those are in lockboxes at the bank and would take a few days.

After watching the movie Journey from the Fall, I hope they're not planning any retaliation attacks or re-education camp-like attempts!

Has anyone filed for the Visa exemption while in Vietnam? We will get our marriage license on the 11th of May, and are planning on filing for the exemption asap. Does anyone know where the office is that we will get the visa exemption form from? Thanks Jerome
