I just recieved bad news this morning that Pam's brother passed away last night (monday in the Phils) is anyone in the area???? I want to know if there is a flower shop to send flowers or is there a certain custom for funerals in the Phil's? what do I do?

if you want to send flowers, in most cases you would have to send them to your girlfriend's house. You can use Flora2000.com for flower bouquets or islandrose.net for roses. Personally i would say that it might be better to just send money to help with the expenses.

If you mean Urbiztondo, Pangasinan, my hometown is near that place. If you want to send flowers, I don't think there is online shop near that place. Helping them in their expenses is the best thing to do. Normal Filipino tradition is to have a wake for about a week or two. During the wake, guests will be coming to attend a vigil as sympathy, some are just coming to gamble (tong-its), while some just wanted to have a cup of coffee & biscuits (jk!). The family will then need to serve them food/snacks. They need to pay also for the coffin & for the burial place so money is of great help.

But the most important thing is that you have to let them feel that they will always have a shoulder to cry on.

No funerals are no the same. There is a viewing of the person usually at that person's home for a couple of days to a week i think. One of my wife's cousin's died right after i got to the PI and the vigal went on for 3 days at her house and then another couple of days at her parents before the burial. As far as delivery of the flowers...they are sent out LBC (courier from manila) to every part of the philippines.

ok now i understand because I couldnt understand why the burial is saturday ....... so the wake is like a week long ...know i know why she has said that she hasnt been sleeping well
