Hello everyone,

you may have allready answered this, but if you can help me I would appreciate it.

I am trying to petiton for my wife's mother to come to the US. My question is for now do I just submit form I-130 to the NVC and wait for instructions or do I need to submit DS230 or I-864 along with the I-130?

If someone can clarify this I would be gratefull

Thank you all!

You got to send only I-130 to USCIS. Other forms you will submit after your I-130 is approved and your case is transferred to NVC.

Your Wife is the only one who can file for her Mother. She needs to be a US Citizen before she can file the I-130.

You may not file an I130 for your mother-in-law. Only your wife can. And she must be a USC, I think before she can do it.

The I130 is filed with the USCIS. Once your case is transferred to the NVC, the DS and I864 forms are filed there.
