Go to NSO and see if you can get the correct one. If you can't take what you have to the interview. You probably will be put on AP to get the NSO original Or "maybe" you'll get lucky.

MUCH better if you go to the interview with the correct BC tho.

I understand that the US embassy requires your birth certificate to be issued by the NSO and printed in NSO security paper. so i dont think a photocopy will suffice.

It happened to me before, but i persisted that the NSO print the other one and after 6 trips they granted my request.

Do not bring a photocopy, they are requiring all original documents.

Try to reschedule your interview and go to NSO office to ask how to obtain your original with the correct name on it.

i read that republic act..but it's like im not covered in it...my first bc is totally mistake,my name, sex ( they put me as a male where in fact i'm a girl). So my parents corrected it by registered me again last yr.2000 for the correct one..i'm now a girl in my new bc and of course with my name whom i used since i was born. Last aug.when i got copies of my bc for my passport they issued my late reg..with no problem. Why now i can't get! it's sux!...wahhh!

Why your parents registered you for the second time? They should have just file a petition for correction in your local court to amend the error.

Anyway, you can't do anything but to file a correction in court. I had my middle name amended last March this year and I got approved on April 13 2009. I got my new BC sometime on June but it was corrected thru the local civil registrar in Bicol because it covered in RA-9048.

I hope everything will be alright with, you should have done something for that long time ago before the processing begins.

Yes ur right..but i never knew my old bc is still existed coz i thot when my parents corrected it, the old bc already cancelled.Well i will just deal that in the court hopefully it will not take so long. And i think i still go with my interview with these docs i have, and explain to them what happen and hopefully i will not get deny..even they will put me in AP i think its better than to wait for my K1 to expire while this bc is still in process.

Hmmm..any thoughts?

hire an attorney girl.. i remember my mom had to pay every letter of my name that was mistake and it was a long name (kakalurkey).. well i have to admit that i didn't follow my name stated in my bc that is why had a problem when i was in college.. and the easier option was to get new registration.. and so on.. i really hope everything will be fine.

Well, sad to say sis, that will be my case..needs an attorney to fix...wahhh! :crying: I might still proceed with my interview date coz what if this process will take long and it will affect my k1 validity? hope they will not deny me for this..

They wouldn't deny you Sweet Angel, I am certain of this. While I was interviewed, there were three others of the same issue as you have now. They were not outrightly denied but were given by that fellow at Window 37 instructions on how to fulfill deficiencies of paperwork. He also gave them their passports back and were told to bring it with them once they submit what was required from each of them.

You will only be required to rectify the proof of your most important identification paper (birth certificate). This is the one which will cause a delay of your visa being given to you, IF and ONLY IF they will question why your birth certificate being a photocopy only and not the original. One can only hope that this shall be missed when paper inspection is done by the pre-screener. Godspeed!

sis, go to nearest NSO and do what you need to do. and ask them how long it would take. if you wont be able to make it on youre interview, have it rescheduled asap,NO SHOW at the embassy would be the last thing you want right!?

happier than ever
