Hello everyone,

So we got our approval back in September (and everyone was happy), I got the approval notice that it was being sent to the London Embassy then we haven't heard a word since. My fiance called the embassy and all they said was "you need to email the embassy." Nice answer from someone we had to pay a little over a pound a minute to call. So we emailed LondonConsular@state.gov and got the auto response of "we'll get back to you in 3-4 days." The guides said this is outside the time line for the foreign embassy to contact the fiance about the interview.

I also tried to call the Vermont USCIS (where we filed) and they sent me to the Visa Center of New Hampshire. All they said there was "we forwarded it, call London."

Is there something else we should be doing?

Also do I need to send the forms for Affidavit of Support to my fiance before the interview or to the embassy directly? No one has mentioned them yet.

Thanks :)

Call Department of State (DOS) 202-663-1225 (a local Washington DC #, no extra charges), press 1 then 0 to talk to a DOS representative. They can find out the exact status of your file, whether it is received by the embassy or where it is at. DOS will ask for the beneficiary/applicant's name and the case #, which is in the format LND# for you. To find out your case # if you already don't know it, you can call NVC (National Visa Center): 603-334-0700 and speak to a NVC representative, give them your USCIS case # and they will tell you your new LND case #. Your LND case # will be your permanent case # from now on, for all purposes of immigration until you get your visa in hand.

Hope this info helps and that you find out where your case is at the moment,

Good luck!

About the affidavit of support, wait until the embassy acknowledges your file (DOS can tell you this, whether the embassy has put your case in the system yet or not). Then you send your I-134 (affidavit of support) directly to your fiance as he needs to bring it to the interview in person, NOT directly to the embassy (This applies to K-1 applicants).

Visa Journey completed, but we are still here to provide support! :)

Improved USCIS Form G-325A (Biographic Information)

Form field input font changed to allow entry of dates in the specified format and to provide more space for addresses and employment history. This is the 6/12/09 version of the form; the current version is 8/8/11, but previous versions are accepted per the USCIS forms page.

Gonna just post on MARM's behalf, since I had to re-read her post to get what she meant at the end! lol..

K1s take their I134s to the embassy with them at interview. Other immigrant visas have different have a different process (where their paperwork is sent to the NVC and all of it gets forwarded to the embassy, for example).

You can still start getting all your ducks in a row for P3. Sounds like you are anyway, but you don't actually need P3 in your hand to get things like your ACPO certificate, sort vaccinations out and even to book your medical. The latter must be a week before your interview now and once you are given your new LND#, that's all you need to book the medical.

The embassy webchat on 30 October replied to a 'how long between NOA2 and P3' question saying to allow 4-6 weeks processing time. London does seem to have been taking a little longer than in the past, but then again, that also seems to be a bit of a crapshoot based on varying VJers' experiences. Either way, you have or are fast approaching the 6 week mark, so I'd want to dig deeper in your situation. It's quite possible that it got lost or really delayed in the whole postal strike whoo-haa London had recently :(
