This might seem a daft question - but has anyone experienced any issues with flights post-marriage but pre-AOS? (I'm thinking for the honeymoon specifically). Will there be some scrutiny at security?

We were considering Florida for a honeymoon, but as we'll be living in NH it's one heck of a drive down ;)

If you are traveling within the US all you need is your passport but also take your marriage certificate just in case.

We did a Vegas weddingmoon. Fun place, and something for everyone.

Have you looked into the California wine country? Or a drive up Hwy 1/101 along the coast to the Redwood National Park? It's absolutely breathtaking.

Florida is nice esp the Keys. I live in Florida and currently they are giving rooms away you can get some really good deals on hotels as we need our tourist to come back to Florida.

I would strongly recommend the Florida keys as well

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

I've searched the forum and haven't found much information on this:

Since the K1 visa requires marriage in the US and re-entry would be difficult, if not impossible, prior to obtaining AP... where are people honeymooning? Most of the "cool" destinations are outside the US and thus ruled out. Anybody given thought to the US Virgin Islands?

Dude, do you have a limited imagination? You got some schooling coming!

Smokey mountains, Gatlingurg, Tennessee

Yes!! I've been there, and it's a beautiful location. Pigeon Forge is nearby, there are some nice golf courses (if that's your thing!), cool artisans on the loop road, and breathtaking views. I would highly recommend a visit there!

Do you see how big the sea is?

Do you see how big the sea is? My love for you is as big as the sea.

Do you see how far the sky is? My love for you is as far as the sky.

As big as the sea and as far as the sky I love you,

I waited for you, I called upon you, I drew you on the promenades,

You sorrow of my life, you tears of the flowers, you season of the birds,

How vast the forest is, my heart is as vast as the forest.

You who are drawn on my door, and drawn in my heart,

I waited for you a year, and throughout the year I would ask the walnut trees,

and I would see you in the sunny days, coming from the sunny days, and lost in the almond leaves,

How small is a tear, and I am just a tear in your way,

I want to vow a candle so that you would let me love you.

If you are the outdoorsey type,.. and like hiking and beautiful waterfalls, google "horsepasture river falls". Its a beautiful place to camp and hike and enjoy nature. Also Gatlinburge is nice too, and also Helen, Ga.

Heres the link to look at picture of horsepasture falls. http://www.pisgahforest.com/photogallery/w...orsepasture.htm

Since you will be living in NH, why not consider Maine. There is coast, mountains, lakes and more.

Another option is the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York.

I think there are some roundtrip cruises from Seattle up to Juneau and back. However, those do make a stop at Victoria BC. Obviously without the paperwork the alien fiance would have problems. Even if you never exit the ship, I never considered that CBP would be there. Ugh! Maybe we should just grab one of those cabins in the Smokies... :)

I looked into this and it is not a good idea until you have the GC - because between Seattle and Alaska you will leave US waters and therefore be out of the US. It may work, depending on how closely they they check documents, but I considered it too much of a risk.

I second the Hwy 1 to the Redwoods in Northern CA suggestion. It is beautiful and not crowded!!

Per the Jones Act... ALL cruises departing from the USA MUST stop in a foreign port unless they are flagged in the USA (and there are only a handfull and very expensive) thus you have to go through immigration!!! So I would avoid a cruise.

The Virgin Islands are really nice for the island feel. Disney World in Florida has a lot of fun options and cool resorts (as well as warm weather, water parks and the theme parks), Arizona (Sedona area) is really nice and has a lot to see and do, and the trip along highway 1 in California is a beautiful trip! Gatlinburg in TN is nice and you can rent a cabin near there (cozy nights if it is cold) and NYC and DC are more "city" choices... Have fun

Another vote for Gatlinsburg, TN! That's where we went! It was beautiful! and We're thinking about going back next spring. We had our own private cabin with 2 Hot tubs and a pool table for cheaper then a hotel! We also saved loads because we had a kitchen so we spent the whole week cooking together.

Another one is Poconos, PA. Though I'm only an hours drive from there, we choose to drive 8 hours to TN, because TN was half the price.
