Got a letter from the NVC my visa will be sent to Montreal at some point this week. :D

Apparently Montreal has a "nice" backlog so we are not expecting an interview any time soon which I am ok with. Dan and I decided that him coming to the States may not be a good idea after all so we decided to wait and see what happens with my job by the time the interview comes around. He may end up petioning me in Canada. We'll see.

Touches means that the somebody done something with your case. It's not the proof that you will soon get your NOA2.

:( Now all my happiness at being with him for 3 whole weeks in China has just kind of deflated(Plus I came back home today. *sigh*). I've looked at others and I've only had 1 touch in December and I am already outside the date range predicted through the timeline(albeit by 1 week). I'm worried that it is an RFE but if it is, why can't they tell me alreadyyyyy. I'm happy for all those people getting their NOA2's but some of them have NOA1 dates later than mine and I just feel just depressed.

So how should I contact the USIC? I'm pretty sure it's an RFE since I'm only one left in November that does not have their NOA2(based on similar timelines). :bonk: And I'm out of the average timeline... I should have frontloaded more. :(

Jia-

We are in the same position. Our NOA 1 date is Nov. 12th and our case has not been touched or updated in anyway since Nov. 13th. I am going crazy but just keep holding hope that it will be any day now. I tried to call USCIS the other day to see if I could get any clarification as to what was going on and they said they are not able to provide any information until it has been 5 months since we sent in the petition. Lets hope we don't have to wait 5 months to find out it got lost in the shuffle or something like that. But yes, very frustrating and I am right there with you.

Haaaa! I finally found it. This is the interview I often refer to:

Interview with a former USCIS Employee

I always have to know why, when and how so when I started the visa process I tried reading as much as I could about it and I found this interview. Even tho it may be a little bit out of date since its from 2007, it gave me a better understanding of how the process works and why some applications can take 60 days and some others take almost 5 months.
