Lady told me the letter size was the biggest they had until I pointed to the bigger one.

I wonder if they didn't have it in stock or if they didn't know any better?

I would guess the second one. Post office employees can be... challenging to work with sometimes. I just went in there with the required dimensions wrote down on a little piece of paper and told them that's what I needed. That way they can't be to confused!

From my experience, the post office person in my Shoppers was... challenging. I came to the counter and said, I need the biggest xpresspost envelope that costs 15 dollars with signature. Of course there is only one "biggest xpresspost envelope that cost 15 dollars with signature" right? The woman was all, "well where do you plan to ship it?". I looked at her and repeated, "I need the biggest expresspost envelope that costs 15 dollars with signature". Needless to say, when she realized I did not give a ratsass with what her "recommendations" were, she got me the envelope...

I think that's a perfectly valid question. It was just basically confirming that you wanted the Regional mailer and not the National one. I would've asked you the same thing to confirm that you were getting the right one. If you're mailing something, I think you'd be more concerned about where it was going than how much it costs. You were right, by the cost, but she was certainly not 'wrong' in wanting to confirm.

You are right to point that out. However, knowing what I wanted and considering that there is only 1 xpresspost envelope that cost like that, I would have preferred if she just gave it to me and took my payment. I think she was trying to dissuade me to buy that envelope and buy a "more reasonable" one. I would understand if a person comes in and is unsure of what product to buy, that the person was just being helpful. It is a pet peeve for me to know what I need and yet to have issues I guess... not trying to be mean or anything.

Eh, you were kind of asking for it in a roundabout way (specifying the cost and relative size rather than saying "Regional XpressPost Prepaid Pack Mailer, 394x314mm"). The postal clerk at the Pharmaprix in Montreal where I got mine didn't understand me at first, but then I showed her the note I had written down with the dimensions and she was able to find it easily.

I do agree that the question about where you were shipping it was valid.

You might want to call the post office department. Their hours are often different than the actual store's hours, and a store employee can't get it for you... you'd have to buy it from someone working in the post office section.

Is it going MTL to BC? If so, make sure it's the National and not the Regional mailer. Sorry if that's obvious. : )

I'm thinking I might buy one sooner rather than later, just to save any last minute stress...even though I don't have an interview scheduled yet. If I know myself at all, I'll be examining and re-verifying every single immigration document I have twenty times before the interview anyhow!
